Mr. Bobby Joe Benson, age 68 of Winfield, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 in Hammond Louisiana.

Bobby was a 1965 graduate of Brilliant High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Malloy and Lillie Marie Franks Benson.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Benson, daughters, Cindy (Tim) Winslett of Brilliant, Tracy (Marty) Miles of Tuscaloosa, and Kristi (Jeremie) Flemming of Millport, grandchildren, Amanda Bowen, Clint Nabors, Robin (Ben) Fortenberry, Derrick (Jordan) Miles, Tyler Nix, Kayla Winslett, and Nathan Winslett, great-grandchildren, Cailen Nabors, Parker and Abby Fortenberry, Brooks and Brylee Bowen, Elena McCarley, and one soon on the way, Aven Miles, a brother, Gary Lee (Laura) Benson of Monroeville, and a host of nieces nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, from the Bowen FUneral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery.  Bro. Anthony Robbins, Bro. E.T. Sargent, and Bro. Bill Duncan will officiate.  Visitation will be held fro 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. (service time) on Sunday at the funeral home.

Brilliant, AL – Mrs. Pearl Ola Burkhalter Atkinson, age 87, of Brilliant, Alabama, formerly of Monroe , Louisiana, passed away Thursday, February 26th, 2015, at Fayette Long Term Care Center, Fayette, Alabama.

Visitation, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 1st, 2015, at Bowen Funeral Home, Winfield, Alabama.  Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 1st, 2015, at Bowen Funeral Home Chapel, Winfield, Alabama.  Bro. Drew Manley officiating.  Burial in Riverview Cemetery in Monroe, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana.

Pearl was a 1945 graduate of Pine Tree High School in Longview, Texas.  She retired from Safeway Grocery Company after 25 years of service and worked for KNOE Channel 8 in Monroe, Louisiana after her retirement from Safeway.  She was a member of College Place Baptist Church in Monroe, Louisiana for 38 years.

Ms. Atkinson is survived by 2 daughters, Cynthia (Johnny) Fowler, and Sandra Proctor of Brilliant, AL.; 1  son, Lenn Stephenson of Brilliant, AL.; 7 grandchildren, Shannon Gelpi, Mary  Gentry, Misty Byrd, Kay Wiginton, Wendy Meeks, Justin Fowler and Jessy Fowler; 7 great-grandchildren, Ryan Gentry, Chasity Hisbon, Lane Stanford, Karagan Stanford, Colton White, Cloie Johnston, and Camden Johnston;  and 1 sister, Sharon (Bill) Taack of Las Vegas, NV.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Clarice Weaver Burkhalter; her husband, Colon W. Atkinson; 3 sisters, Margie Willett, Rosemary Burkhalter and Shirley Burkhalter; and 2 brothers, Odell and Glen Burkhalter.

Ms. Williams was born July 31st, 1951, in Marion County, Alabama, to Dorothy Bray Cole and the late Garth Cole.

She is survived by her husband, John “Bo” Williams; 1 daughter, Julie Dawn Williams; 1 son, Douglas Ray McCarley; 1 granddaughter, Sydney McCarley; her mother, Dorothy Bray Cole Donahue; and 1 sister, Deborah Zimmerman.

She was preceded in death by her father, Garth Cole; 1 brother, Garth Joseph Cole; and 2 sisters, Elizabeth Ann Cole and Amy Louise Cole.
