
William Austin “Bill” Guyton, Jr., age 85, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Marion Regional Nursing Home in Hamilton, Alabama.
Visitation, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., Sunday, April 22, 2012, at the Marion County Funeral Home. Funeral service, 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 23, 2012 at the Hamilton United Methodist Church. The body will lie-in-state 10:00 -11:00 a.m. Bro. Mac Buttram, Bro. Ryan Karr & Bro. Louie G. Scales officiating. Burial in Hamilton City Cemetery.
Mr. Guyton was born December 23, 1926, in Fayette, Alabama, to the late William Austin & Nannie Mae Brock Guyton, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Ava Lee Wamsley Guyton, Sr.; 2 children, Tommy (Teresa) Guyton, Melinda (Phillip) Franks; 4 grandchildren, Kristen (Brent) Hall, Karen Dillard, Rachel Franks, and Zacharie Guyton; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Carolyn Scales and Nannette (James Ed) Lawhon; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 1 son, Austin Craig Guyton; 1 grandson, Thomas Lynn Guyton; his parents, William Austin & Nannie Mae Brock Guyton, Sr.; and 2 sisters, Margie Nicklaus & Jimmie Ann “Peggy” Betts.
Marion County Funeral Home assisted the family.
