Mr. Vesmer H. Avery, age 80, of Hamilton passed away November 4th, 2012 at his residence.

Visitation, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 6th, 2012, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Hamilton, Alabama.  Funeral service, 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 7th, 2012, at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial in Webb Cemetery, Beaverton, Lamar County, Alabama.

Mr. Avery was born July 19th, 1932, in Marion County, Alabama, to the late Dorsey and Lou Crow Avery.  He was retired from 41 years with the Army National Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Lurlene Avery; 2 children, Steve (Dianne) Avery, and Teena Nix; 3 grandchildren, Brad Nix, Heath Avery, and Angie Avery; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorsey and Lou Crow Avery; and 1 son, Randy Avery.
