Mr. Walter Smith, age 64, of Hamilton, Alabama passed away February 24th, 2013, at his residence.

Visitation, 12:00 Noon – 2:00 p.m., February 27th, 2013, at the Ashbank Baptist Church.  Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., at Ashbank Baptist Church.  Bro. Preston Headrick officiating.  Burial in  Ashbank Cemetery in Nauvoo, Alabama.

Mr. Smith is survived by his mother, Martha Smith; 1 son, Billy Gene Smith; 4 sisters, Frances Liggett of Henderson, KY., Janie Craven of Nauvoo, AL., Loretta Miller of Hamilton, AL., and Wonda White of Jackson, S.C.; 1 brother, Oscar Smith of Jackson, S.C.; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Smith; 2 brothers, Billy Smith and Charlie Smith; and 1 sister, Rebecca Jordan.

Ms. Roberts was born August 8th, 1927, in Marion County, Alabama, to the late Grover and Elizabeth Wiginton Palmer.  She was the wife of Elmo Roberts and was a retired Seamstress from Toll Gate Garment formerly in Hamilton, Alabama.

She is survived by her husband, Elmo Roberts; 1 son, Gary Roberts; and 3 grandchildren, Tracey Sanderson, Tanya Cabiness, and Gary Dusty Roberts.

Mr. J.A. Shackelford, 85 of Vernon, passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 11:00 am from Vernon Full Gospel Worship Center with Bro. James Godsey officiating. Military honor graveside service and burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6-8pm.

Pallbearers: Randy Lockhart, Steve Lockhart, Johnny Boone, Delbert Vice, Tom Goodwin and Steve Madison.

J.A. was born September 13, 1927 in Columbus, MS to the late James Allen “Jim” and Edna Lenora “Nonie” Thomas Shackelford. He served in the US Army, was a US Air Force retiree and also was retired from Emerson where he worked as a machinist. J.A. enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, wrestling, coin collecting and playing soliatre.

Mr. Blanchard was born June 12th, 1957, in Lamar County, Alabama, to Annie Mae Hollis Blanchard and the late Curlie Gray Blanchard, Sr.  He was a 1975 graduate of Lamar County High School in Vernon, Alabama.  He previously worked at Arvin, Chromalox, truck driving and as a brick mason.  In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and cooking.  He was a member of New Grove Baptist Church in Kennedy, Alabama.

He is survived by his mother, Annie Mae Blanchard, Sulligent, AL.; his grandmother: Annie C. Mr. Charles Lymon Hudson, age 84, of Pontotoc, Mississippi, formerly of Hackleburg, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, February 20th, 2013, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Mississippi.

Funeral service, 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 21st, 2013, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Hamilton, Alabama.  Elvis Cochran officiating.  Burial in Union Hill Cemetery, Hackleburg, Marion County, Alabama.

Mr. Hudson was born October 24th, 1928, in Marion County, Alabama, to the late L.M. and Gertrude (neé Hall) Hudson.  He was a retired Construction Pipe Superintendent.

He is survived by 1 son, Randall Charles (Sherrie) Hudson; and 2 grandchildren, Sydney Hudson and Josh Hudson.
