Ms. Brenda J. Thomas McGraw, age 60, of Hubbertville, Alabama, passed away Monday, April 29th, 2013, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Fayette, Alabama.

Visitation, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 30th, 2013, at Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield, Alabama. Graveside service, 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 30th, 2013, at the New River Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Charles Tittle officiating.

Mrs. McGraw is survived by her Husband, John McGraw; 2 sons, John (Kim) McGraw Jr., Jasper, AL., and Jeffery McGraw, Hubbertville, AL.; 1 granddaughter, Kirsten McGraw, Jasper, AL.; and 2 sisters, Cathy Roby, Hubbertville, AL., and Sandy Garcia, Marimar Beach, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Betty Wright Thomas; 1 son, Robby McGraw; 1 brother, Bobby Thomas; and her step-mother, Merlene Thomas.

Mr. Lauran Austin Jones, age 84, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Monday, April 29th, 2013, at his residence.

Visitation, 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 1st, 2013, at the Hamilton United Methodist Church in Hamilton, Alabama.  Funeral service to follow visitation, 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 1st, 2013, at the church.  Burial in the Hamilton City Cemetery, Hamilton, Marion County, Alabama.

Mr. Jones was born June 22nd, 1928, in Oakman, Alabama, to the late John Hardee and Lilah Milsaps Jones.  He was a retired Banker and he was of the Methodist faith where he sang with the Choir for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Corinne Lochridge Jones; 1 daughter, Sheilah (David) Wiginton; 1 son, Steve Jones; and 5 grandchildren, Zach Wiginton, Callie Wiginton, Tyler (Maribeth) Jones, Chandler Jones, and Dylan Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lilah Jones.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hamilton United Methodist Church Choir or The Christian Center of Concern.

Ms. Linda Mae Stankse Carroll, age 55, of Hackleburg, Alabama, passed away Friday night, April 26th, 2013, at the Russellville Hospital in Russellville, Alabama.

Visitation, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 29th, 2013, at the Hackleburg Church of Christ in Hackleburg, Alabama.  Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 30th, 2013, at the Hackleburg Church of Christ.  Mike Lann officiating.  The body will lie-in-state 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 30th, 2013, prior to service, at the church.  Burial in Burleson Cemetery.

Ms. Carroll was born December 31st, 1959, in Wisconsin, to the late Chral and Rose Ann Wiaskyich Stankse.

She is survived by her husband, George Carol; 3 daughters, Christina Jenner, Rose Ann Riddle, and Chist Anna Bell; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; and 8 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chral and Rose Ann Wiaskyich Stankse.

Ms. Alice Hardwick Gregg, age 87, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Thursday, April 25th, 2013, at her residence.

Ms. Gregg was born March 5th, 1926, in Morgan County, Alabama, to the late Woodfin and Rosa Ellen Parker Hardwick.  She was of the Methodist Faith and was avidly involved in church and civic matters.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Ruth Alice Gregg (Sam) Alexander, and Ellen Rose Gregg; 3 sons, Woodfin (Carla) Gregg, Tinsley (Patty) Gregg, and Hardwick Gregg; 9 grandchildren, Jeremy Gregg, Zachary Gregg, Melanie Gregg, Kala Gregg, Brook Gregg, Samantha Rose Shelton, Maggie Gregg, Luke Alexander, and Alice Parker Alexander; and 3 sisters, Ruth Hardwick Perry, Bettie Hardwick Morris, and Helen Hardwick Allen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodfin and Rosa Ellen Hardwick; her husband, Bud Gregg; 2 brothers, J.E. Hardwick, and Wiley Hardwick; and 1 sister, Mary Hardwick Kerr.

Ms. Louise Wilson Kivette, age 87, of Guin, Alabama, passed away Sunday, April 21st, 2013, at Sunset Manor Nursing Home, Guin, Alabama.

Ms. Kivette was born in Marion County, Alabama, to the late Grady and Icy Wilson.  She was a member of the Free Water Free Will Baptist Church.  She live most of her life in the Pearidge Community, Marion County, Alabama.  She was the widow of the late Grady Kivette to whom she was married for 55 years.  She was a life-long homemaker, gardener, and she loved her family.*

She is survived by 1 son, Donald (Carol) Kivette, Guin, AL.; 2 brothers, Wymon (Helen) Wilson, Guin, AL., and Murlon Wilson, Moline, IL.; 5 grandchildren, Tracey (Jim) Franks, Guin, AL., Scotty Kivette, Guin, AL., Chad (Paula) Kivette, Clarksville, TN., Chris Kivette, Tuscaloosa, AL., and Cindy Kivette, Hackleburg, AL.; 14 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Ms. Sheila Sanders, age 51, of Phil Campbell, Alabama, passed away Thursday, April 18th, 2013, at the Russellville Hospital, in Russellville, Alabama.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

She loved her children and was attending college to become a teacher. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and loved life. She will be sorely missed.*

Survivors include her friend, Mike Sanders, Spruce Pine, AL; her mother, Mary Pruitt of Iuka; 2 sons – Ricki Sanders, Iuka, MS., and Dylan Sanders of Phil Campbell, AL; 5 brothers, Estes Ray Brown, Missouri, Haymond Brown, Jr., Burnsville, MS., Ricky Brown, George Brown, and Billy Brown, all of Iuka, MS.; 1 sister, Barbara (Steve) Rutherford, Iuka, MS.; 1 sister-in-law, Deborah Wilbanks, Iuka, MS.; 3 grandchildren, Arwen Jade Sanders, Destiny Kaiana Sanders, and Leia Aiden Sanders; 1 niece, Maria Lambert, Florence, AL.; and 2 nephews, Eric Lambert, Huntsville, AL., and P.J. flag_emergency_medical_service_aMiss Melinda Marie Knight, age 44, of Charleston, Illinois, and formerly of Guin, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, April 17th, 2013 at her residence in Charleston.

Visitation, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., Monday, April 22nd, 2013, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Hamilton, Alabama. Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 23rd, 2013, at the funeral home chapel. Burial in Webb Cemetery in Lamar County, Alabama.

Melinda, the daughter of Tommy Knight of Guin, Alabama and the late Marilyn Jones Knight, formerly served as an EMT in the Guin and Winfield, Alabama area. She was disabled at the time of her death.

In a touching ceremony, that included around 20 Emergency Medical Technicians, Police Officers and others who had worked alongside Melinda, an Honor Guard performed the traditional folding and presentation of the EMT flag, which had draped her casket, to the father that Melinda left behind.

Soon after, in the silence, a dispatcher could be heard over a radio speaking the moving words over the air of “Last Call” and Melinda was placed with honor in an awaiting ambulance to take her last ride to her final resting place beside her mother, grandparents, and cousin, at the Webb Cemetery, located near Beaverton, in Lamar County, Alabama.

She is survived by her father, Tommy Knight; her grandmother, Opal Knight; aunt, Sondra Knight Wightman; uncle, Roger Jones; cousin, Shone Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Jones Knight; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Warren (Rose Ella Plunkett “Zell”) Jones, and grandfather, Fred Knight; and cousin, Kristopher Robin Jones.
