Mr. Dennis Wayne McCarley, age 56, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Monday,  August 26th, 2013, at his residence. 

Visitation, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., Tuesday evening, August 27th, 2013, at Mt. Zion Church, County Road 25, (Weston) Hamilton, Alabama.  Funeral service, 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 28th, at Mt. Zion Church.  Israel Price, Curtis Sutton, and Shane Harris officiating.  Burial in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Mr. McCarley was born December 16th, 1956. in Marion County, Alabama, to Lowell and Jane McCarley.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria McCarley; 1 daughter, Amanda (Joey) Eads; 2 sons, Dewayne McCarley, and Chris McCarley; 3 grandchildren, Kimberley Stevens “Pumkin”, Julie Umfress “June Bug”, and Jayden Eads “George”; his mother, Jane McCarley; 1 sister, Sabrina (Charlie) Franks; 5 brothers, Brad McCarley, Danny (Evonne) McCarley, Kenneth (Gail) McCarley, Keith McCarley, and Timmy (Lisa) McCarley; and a host of nieces and nephews, in-laws, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lowell McCarley; and by his grandparents.

Mr. Sterling Hayes, age 82, of Beaverton, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Generations of Vernon.

Visitation 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening, August 22nd, 2013, at the Otts Funeral Home in Sulligent, Alabama. Funeral service, 4:00 p.m., Friday, August 23rd, 2013 at Otts Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Beaverton, Lamar County, Alabama. Bro. Roger Redus and Bro. Edward Puckett officiating.

Mr. Hayes was born August 21st, 1930, in Lamar County, Alabama to the late Clifton and Flossie Eldridge Hayes. He worked for several years at McCoy Mfg and for Glenn Franklin at Franklin MFA. Sterling was a member of Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by 4 sons: Bobby Joe (Judy) Hayes, Sulligent, AL., Frankie (Ann) Hayes, Sulligent, AL., Henry Dale Hayes, Greenwood Springs, MS., and Danny (Doris) Hayes, Beaverton, AL.; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Herman (Pauline) Hayes of Sulligent, AL.

He was preceded in death by parents, Clifton and Flossie Hayes; his wife, Annie Belk Hayes; 1son, Johnny Hayes; daughters: Martha Sue Guyton and Anita Kay Hayes; 6 brothers,Tom, Berble, Mac, Junior, Hardy, and Lewis Hayes; 3 sisters, Lois Hayes, Lestie Hayes, and Dean McGoo.

Ms. Johnnie Johnson Boyett, age 86, of Fayette, Alabama, formerly of Sulligent, and Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, August 21st, 2013 at her residence.

Visitation, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday evening, August 23rd, 2013, at the Otts Funeral Home, Sulligent, Alabama. Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24th, 2013, at Otts Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in Sulligent City Cemetery. Bro. Edward Puckett and Elder Angela R. Metcalfe officiating. Pallbearers, Don Rushing, Bo Morris, Tommy Dale McClendon, Johnny Allen, Bobby Stripling, Jaime Vernon, Jerry Williams, and Mike Millican. Honorary pallbearers, the Dorcus Sunday School Class.

Johnnie Johnson Boyett was born May 27th, 1927 in Marion County, Alabama to the late Samuel Clarence and Nora Bell Markham Johnson. She was a 1945 graduate of Hamilton High School. Johnnie was retired from First State Bank and previously worked at Fine’s Department Store. She enjoyed flower gardening and cooking. Johnnie was a member of Sulligent First Baptist Church.*

She is survived by her husband, Ted Boyett, Fayette, AL.; 2 daughters, Carolyn (Charles) Hamm, Jackson, MS., and Rita (David) Grayson, Fayette, AL.; 3 grandchildren, Brian (Lindsay) Hamm, Katie Grayson, and Jessica Grayson; and 2 great-grandchildren, Ted Hamm, and Addison Hamm.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Clarence and Nora Bell Johnson; and 3 brothers, Walter Johnson, Percy Johnson, and Hurston Johnson.
