Ms. Cantrell was born October 25th, 1926, in Lamar County, Alabama, to the late Halen and Myrtle Franks Duncan. She lived most of her life in Guin, Alabama where she was co-owner of the Modern Beauty Salon and practiced cosmetology for many years. She loved sewing and cross-stitching. Around 1988 she moved to Sulligent, Alabama.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Brenda Gordon of Vernon, AL.; 3 sisters, Elaine McRenolds of Birmingham, AL., Mary Jo Taylor of Guin, AL., and Shirley Minor of Sulligent, AL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Cantrell; 1 son, Larry Gene Cantrell; her parents, Halen and Myrtle Franks Duncan; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Mr. Palmer Cooper, age 96, of Beaverton, Alabama, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

Funeral service, Wednesday, November 27th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Kingsville Cemetery in Detroit, AL. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 until service time at 2:00 pm.

Palmer Cooper was born November 17th, 1917 in Detroit, Alabama, to the late Delmer and Era Chandler Cooper. He previously worked at American Motors in Kensoha, WI and he was self-employed as a painter. Mr. Cooper loved his wife and family. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening. He was a member of Living Light Church of God in Jasper, AL.

Ms. Nipper was born February 14th, 1932 in Texas, to the late Robert and Norma Brogdon Starritt. Ms. Nipper worked for many years at Wee Wisdom Daycare in Vernon, Alabama and was a member of Winfield First Baptist Church and Keenagers.*

She is survived by her husband, William Henry Nipper of Brilliant, AL.; 1 daughter Jean (Daniel) Koester of Winfield, AL.; 2 grandchildren William Allan (Misty) Koester of Vernon, AL., and Rebekah Koester of Winfield, AL.; 1 great-grandson, Spencer Koester of Vernon, AL.; 1 sister, Wanda Staritt (Gayl) Dopson of Oracle, AZ.; and 1 sister-in-law, Elouise Nipper of Brilliant, AL.
