Mr. Larry Gene “Sam” Taylor, age 66, of Guin, Alabama (in the Twin Community), formerly of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, November 13th, 2013, at the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, Alabama.
Visitation, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 15th, 2013, at the Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral service, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 16th, 2013, at the church. Burial in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Me. Taylor was a retired Master Sargent with the United States National Guard, serving in the 877th unit for over 40 years, a member of the Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church, and a 1965 Graduate of Hamilton High School.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Taylor; 2 daughters, Anissa (Steve) Blair of Winfield, AL., and Natalie (Matthew) May of Helena, AL.; 1 son, Jason (Mandy) Taylor of Guin, AL.; 5 grandchildren, Haley Minor, Anderson Minor, Braely Taylor, Bretta Taylor, and Kate May; 2 step-grandchildren, Morgan and Loren Blair; 1 aunt, Mary Dell Knight of Hamilton; and many other relatives and friends.
Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents, A.Z. and Gera Lee Scogin Taylor.
