Mrs. Mavalen “Pet” Bly, age 83, of Winfield, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, November 26th, 2014, at her residence.
Visitation, 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 29th, 2014 at the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel in Winfield, Alabama. Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 29th, at the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. Scotty Stovall and Ronnie Elmore officiating. Burial in the White Springs Cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Brenda (Jerry) Reese, Jerry Harris, and Linda (Eddie) Norris; grandchildren, Cynthia (Van) Tidwell, Ed (Tiffany) Harris, Jeremy (Julie) Sumners, Shannon (Jason) South, Kimberly Reese Hulsey, Brandon Norris, Crystal (Clint) Coulon, and Jamie (Amber) Endsley; great-grandchildren, Kayla Pendley, Gunner Pendley, Rylee Hulsey, Emma Grace South, Mai Dooley, Raylee Harris, Jackson Tidwell, Easton South, Katelynn Sumners, and Gracelynn Endsley; step-grandchildren, Brian (Dee Dee) Bly, and Karen Bly Harris; step-great-grandchildren, Julia Bly, Chris Bly, Chase Bly, and Bonnie Shoemaker; and 1 daughter-in-law, Pam Harris; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Bly was preceded in death by her parents, Rass and Edna Heathcock Tidwell; 3 husbands, Jack Harris, R.P. Harrison, and George Columbus Bly; 1 son, Larry Harris; 1 granddaughter, Kristi Dooley; 1 great-granddaughter, Isabella Dooley; and 2 sisters, Hassie Mayfield, and Augusta Mayfield.

Ms. Jewel Bernis Webb Sisson, age 96, of Athens, Alabama, formerly of Columbus, Mississippi, passed away Tuesday, November 25th, 2014, at Athens-Limestone Hospital in Athens, Alabama.
Visitation, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday evening, November 28th, 2014, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with viewing, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 29th, until time of service at the Asbury Methodist Church, Southeast of Vernon, Alabama, on highway 9, Millport, Alabama. Burial in Asbury Methodist Church Cemetery.
Jewell Webb was born July 19th, 1918, in Crews, Alabama, to the late William Thomas “Tom” and Velma Roberson Webb. She was raised in Oklahoma and moved to Columbus, Mississippi after graduation. She married Henry Sisson in 1942. Since her husband’s death January 20, 1998, Jewell has resided in Athens, Alabama with her daughter and son-in-law, Helen Ruth and Don Porter.
She is survived by her daughter, Helen Ruth Sisson (Don) Porter; 1 granddaughter, Susan Porter Kearley, of Huntsville, AL.; 1 grandson, Steven Porter, of Hanceville, AL.; 5 grandchildren, Grace, Emily, Joy, Sadie, and Daniel; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Raymond Sisson; her parents, William Thomas “Tom” and Velma Roberson Webb; and her grandparents, Charles Anderson “Charlie” and Dora Ann Hilburn Webb, and James O. and Julia Etta Cunningham Sisson.
(Author’s Note: Jewell was just one of a handful of first cousins left to me, (and my second cousins and others with whom I am also close in age and love dearly). I did not get to see Jewell as I should have for several years but I thought of her often. As my sisters and I have grown older and our younger brother went on to be with The Good Lord, I would like to draw our dwindling family closer but alas, that is not God’s Plan, only my dreams…Just sharing, thanks for listening, Judy Webb Mays)

Linda Stone Mobley, age 74, of Guin, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, November 26th, 2014, in the Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
Visitation, 12:00 Noon – 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 28th, 2014, at the Guin First United Methodist Church. Funeral service, 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 28th, 2014 at the church, following visitation. Bro. Tim Alexander officiating. Burial in the Guin City Cemetery.
Linda Stone was born June 30th, 1940 in Marion County, Alabama, to the late Leon and Mae Dyar Stone. She had lived in Guin most of her life and had retired after working 34 years for the Department of Human Services. She was a member of the Guin First United Methodist Church. She loved sewing and her grandchildren and working with Santa’s Workshop.
She is survived by her husband, Nathan Mobley of Guin, AL.; 3 daughters, Karen (Keith) Wilemon of Hartselle, AL., Jennifer (Andy) Couch of Mountain Brook, AL., and Andrea (Stephen) Knight of Guin, AL.; 6 grandchildren, Jace (Tiffany) Wilemon, Cade Wilemon, Catherine Grace Couch, Colin Couch, Seth Knight and Caleb Knight; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Mae Dyar Stone; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.

Mrs. Sanders is the widow of Mr. James Lecil Sanders and the daughter of the late Mr. Clarence Bozeman and Mattie Jones Wilson.
Mrs. Sanders is survived by her son, David (Irene) Sanders of Winfield, daughter-in-law, Brenda Sanders of Winfield, 4 grandchildren, Darryl (Christy) Sanders of Birmingham, Randy Sanders of Winfield, Amy (Darrell) Franks of Winfield, Misty (Robbie) Hillis of Florence, 8 great grandchildren, Adam Franks, Felicia Haley, Chelsea Johnson, Laken Franks, Brady Franks, Wesley Sanders, Ben Hillis and Lydia Hillis, 6 great great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Ruby Lyons and Pat Musquara.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, James Donald Sanders, daughter-in-law, Mary Nell Sanders and 2 grandsons, James Donald Sanders, Jr, and Terry Allen Sanders.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel and visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. (service time). Bro. Hollie Wayne Spiller and Bro. Robert Huffman will be the officiating ministers. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
