imageHamilton, AL – William Kenneth Galbreath, Sr., age 76, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away peacefully Friday, January 29th, 2016 at his son’s residence with his beloved family around him.

Visitation, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., Sunday, January 31st, 2016, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Hamilton, Alabama.

Funeral service, 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 1st, 2016, at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial in Galbreath Cemetery in Hamilton (Weston), in Marion County, Alabama.

Kenneth was born March 8th, 1939, in Marion County, Alabama, to the late William Lonnie and Ethel Palmer Galbreath, the oldest living child of nine children. Audra, the eldest, born in 1936, tragically died of an illness before Kenneth was born. Kenneth worked from the young age of 15 to help support his mother, brothers and sisters and ailing father. He began working for the Marion County commission then for the City of Hamilton, Alabama until retirement and then continued to work with his own backhoe and bulldozers until his health began to fail. He was a Christian man with strong family ties who loved his children, and grandchildren.

He is survived by 3 children, Kayron Galbreath (Craig Ray), William Kenneth Galbreath, Jr. (Vicki Mills), and Barry (Jennifer) Galbreath; 3 grandchildren, Mandy Evans (Chad) Logan, Courtney Galbreath, and Amanda Dylan Mills; step-grandchildren, Sarah Holloway, Nathan Holloway, Joey Mills, and Jamie Mills; 5 great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Wanda Galbreath (Doug) Terrell, and Bonnie Galbreath (Butch) Montgomery; 2 brothers, Dale (Jan) Galbreath, and Jimmy Galbreath; and a great host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Deborah Renee Galbreath; his parents, Lonnie and Ethel Palmer Galbreath; 1 sister, Audra Galbreath; 3 brothers, Wade Galbreath, Truman Galbreath, and Jerry Galbreath; and grandparents, William R. “Dock” Galbreath, and Edna Seay Galbreath, Henry Sherman “Little Henry” Palmer, and Belzora Gann Palmer.

Hamilton, AL – Ms. Shannon Whitfield Weeks, age 43, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Thursday, January 28th, 2016, at NMMC in Tupelo, MS.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Whitfield, grandfather Bluford Whitfield.

She leaves to cherish her memory, parents, Diane and Elvis Cochran; brother, Shane Whitfield (wife, Mechele); grandparents, Richard and Lillie Abbott, Bertha Thorpe; and a host of relatives and friends.

Tarrant, AL – Mr. Columbus Leech Wood Jr., better known as Junior Wood, age 76, of Tarrant, Alabama, passed away Monday, January 18th, 2016 at his residence.

Mr. Wood was the owner-operator of Wood Printing Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Columbus Leech Wood, Sr. and L. Eugenia Burleson Wood; 2 sisters, Betty S. Wood and Edith Smith; 2 brothers, Sherman Wood and Kenneth Wood; and 1  nephew, Kenneth Sizemore.

He is survived by his children, Marty Wood of Bibb County, AL., and Eddie Wilson of Winfield, AL.; 2 sisters, Helen Mills and Ruth Thatenhurst of Winfield, AL.; 2 grandchildren, Amber Wood of Birmingham, AL., and Crystal Beasley of Winfield, AL.; 6 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial service details will be announced at a later date.

She is survived by 1 son, Don (Zellen) Colburn; 1 sister, Ruth (Olan) Lee; step-grandson, Barry (Phyllis) Taylor; 2 step-great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Colburn; her parents, Mark and Dellar McCarley Winsett; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Mr. Self was born April 3rd, 1935.
