Hamilton, AL – William Kenneth Galbreath, Sr., age 76, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away peacefully Friday, January
29th, 2016 at his son’s residence with his beloved family around him.
Visitation, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., Sunday, January 31st, 2016, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Hamilton, Alabama.
Funeral service, 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 1st, 2016, at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial in Galbreath Cemetery in Hamilton (Weston), in Marion County, Alabama.
Kenneth was born March 8th, 1939, in Marion County, Alabama, to the late William Lonnie and Ethel Palmer Galbreath, the oldest living child of nine children. Audra, the eldest, born in 1936, tragically died of an illness before Kenneth was born. Kenneth worked from the young age of 15 to help support his mother, brothers and sisters and ailing father. He began working for the Marion County commission then for the City of Hamilton, Alabama until retirement and then continued to work with his own backhoe and bulldozers until his health began to fail. He was a Christian man with strong family ties who loved his children, and grandchildren.
He is survived by 3 children, Kayron Galbreath (Craig Ray), William Kenneth Galbreath, Jr. (Vicki Mills), and Barry (Jennifer) Galbreath; 3 grandchildren, Mandy Evans (Chad) Logan, Courtney Galbreath, and Amanda Dylan Mills; step-grandchildren, Sarah Holloway, Nathan Holloway, Joey Mills, and Jamie Mills; 5 great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Wanda Galbreath (Doug) Terrell, and Bonnie Galbreath (Butch) Montgomery; 2 brothers, Dale (Jan) Galbreath, and Jimmy Galbreath; and a great host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Deborah Renee Galbreath; his parents, Lonnie and Ethel Palmer Galbreath; 1 sister, Audra Galbreath; 3 brothers, Wade Galbreath, Truman Galbreath, and Jerry Galbreath; and grandparents, William R. “Dock” Galbreath, and Edna Seay Galbreath, Henry Sherman “Little Henry” Palmer, and Belzora Gann Palmer.
