hamilton_johnie_haroldGardendale, AL. – Mr. Johnie Harold Hamilton, of Gardendale, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his children on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. He was 96. Mr. Hamilton was born in Detroit, Alabama on November 22, 1920 to Wilton L. and Lela Maude (Collier) Hamilton. He graduated from Hamilton High School and attended Jacksonville Teachers’ College (Jacksonville State University) before joining the United States Marine Corps in 1942. Primarily stationed in the South Pacific, he served in World War II as an Advanced Ordinance Tech Sergeant. On December 13, 1947, he married Nellie Palmer, his wife of 61 years. They settled in Birmingham, Alabama where they raised their family and he worked as a railcar inspector at Burlington Northern (Frisco) Railroad until his retirement in 1986. His philosophy for life was largely influenced by the hardships of growing up in the depression era and his military service as a US Marine. He had strong values about dedication to family, respecting nature, and the significance of hard work. His exemplary life has strongly influenced his family for three generations. As an avid, resourceful gardener, he provided family and friends with delicious homegrown fruits and vegetables for many years. Mr. Hamilton is preceded in death by wife, Nellie Palmer Hamilton, brother, Wilson Bankhead Hamilton, and grandson, Blaine Bradford, and great-grandson, Jedidiah Arendale. He is survived by his children, Don (Janice) Hamilton, Patricia (Larry) Hart, Barbara (Steve) Arendale, and Brenda (Barry) Bradford; grandchildren, Brandon Hart, Allison Hart, Jennifer (Watts) Ueltschey, Chris (Liz) Arendale, Leslie (Hans) Richerzhagen, Patrick (Pam) Hamilton, Philip (Kristen) Hamilton, Benjamin (Erica) Bradford, and Barrett (Abigail) Bradford; and great-grandchildren, Henry, Samantha, Max, George, Mary Jane, Frances, John, and Alice Arendale, Sierra Richerzhagen, Lauren Elizabeth Hart, Erin, Watts, and Mary Ueltschey; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M on Saturday, January 14, 2017 Marion County Funeral Home in Hamilton, Alabama. A Graveside Service will follow visitation at 1:30 P.M at Rudicell Cemetery in Detroit, Alabama.*

Guin, AL – Ms. Jeanetta McClain LeDuke, age 73, of Guin, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, January 10th, 2017, in the Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 12th, 2017, at the Guin First Baptist Church in Guin, Alabama.  Bro. Kenny Hatcher, Bro. Zane Miles and Bro. Nicolas Seaborn officiating.  Burial in the Guin City Cemetery, Guin, Marion County, Alabama.

Ms. LeDuke was born October 5th, 1943, in Marion County, Alabama, to the late Chester Ray McClain and Verlie Arbie Emmerson McClain.  She was a 1961 graduate of Hamilton High School in Hamilton, Alabama and was the widow of the late Robert “Bobby” LeDuke.  She had lived in Guin most of her life, was a member of the Guin First Baptist Church had worked at Wal-Mart and had been a Teacher’s Aide at Marion County High School in Guin since 1985.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Michelle (Jamie) Palmer of Hamilton, AL., and Laci LeDuke of Atlanta, GA.; 1 son, Lance LeDuke of Gu-Win, AL.; 8 grandchildren, Bro.Nicolas (Rachel) Seaborn, Rachel Seaborn, Reese Seaborn, Payton LeDuke, Skyler LeDuke, Ayla LeDuke, Summer LeDuke and Chloe Palmer; 2 sisters, Peggy McClain Jones of Huntsville, AL., and Carolyn McClain Morris of Tupelo, MS.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bobby” LeDuke; and her parents, Chester Ray and Verlie Arbie Emerson McClain.

Moody, AL – Ms. Betty Wilson Bainbridge, age 73, of Moody, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, January 4th, 2017, at her residence.

Funeral service, 12:00 Noon, Monday, January 9th, 2017, at the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel.  Mr. Rick Spiker officiating.  Burial in the Blaylock Cemetery, Sulligent, Lamar County, Alabama.

Ms Bainbridge was born June 4th, 1943, in Greenwood Springs, Mississippi.  She was the daughter of the late Arlen Leon Wilson and Gladys Christine Ray Wilson; and the wife of Mike Bainbridge.  She had lived in Moody the past 27 years.  She loved flowers, hummingbirds, and children.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Bainbridge; 1  son, Michael (Shannon) Bainbridge; and 1 grand-daughter, Christina Grace Bainbridge, all of Moody, AL.; and 1  brother, John Wilson of Olive Branch, MS.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arlen Leon Wilson; and her mother, Gladys Christine Ray Wilson.

Hamilton, AL – Mrs. Earlene Pugh Warren, age 75 of Winfield, Alabama, passed away Sunday, January 1st, 2017 in the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Funeral Service, Friday, January 6th, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., from the McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral Home.  Scott Montgomery officiating.  Burial in West Alabama Memorial Gardens, Gu-Win, Marion County, Alabama.

Earlene was born on April 2, 1941 in Guin, Alabama.  She was the daughter of Elic F. Pugh and Alice White Pugh; attended Marion Co. High School; previously employed with Munsingwear in Guin and was currently employed with Fayette Christian Academy Day-Care; she was the widow of Don Warren; and she was a member of Fayette Free Will Baptist church.

Survivors include one son, Thomas Warren of Haleyville, AL.; one daughter, Barbara Warren of Hamilton, AL.; one granddaughter, Aleigha Warren; one sister, Lorene Haney of Pea Ridge; one brother, Earnest Pugh of Guin; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, Donald “Don” Warren and parents, Elic F. Pugh and Alice White Pugh, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Thomas, Hazel Gann, Eunice Burleson and an infant sister, Cassandra Pugh; and three brothers, Richard, Hollis and Artis Pugh.
