Hamilton, AL – Ms. Willene Byrd Gann, age 88, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Wednesday morning, May 10th, 2017 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Visitation, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 12th, 2017, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, Hamilton, Alabama.  Funeral service, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 13th, 2017, at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Jeff Fleming officiating.  Burial in Hamilton Memorial Gardens (Hamilton Memory Gardens), Hamilton, Marion County, Alabama.

Willene Byrd Gann was born August 6th, 1928, in Marion County, Alabama, to the late Chester Walter and Ophelia Young Byrd. She attended Byrd School in the Byrd Community and Hamilton High School in Hamilton, Alabama. After marriage in December 1946, she and her husband, Lowell Dow Gann, moved to Zion, Illinois where they remained until after their retirement and then moved back to their hometown of Hamilton, Alabama. Lowell preceded her in death in September, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Dow Gann; her parents, Walter Chester “Chess” Byrd and Ophelia Byrd Gann; 4 brothers, Clyde Byrd, Elmer Byrd, Woodrow “Woodie” Byrd, and Doil Byrd; and 3 sisters, Ruby Byrd Price, Dorothy Byrd Flournoy, and Inez Byrd Smith.

She is survived by 4 sons, William Dow (Peggy) Gann, Roger Dale (Julie) Gann, Don Hugh Gann (Judy Webb Mays), and Gary (Jaquelin) Gann; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 09, 2017 from 6-8:00 P.M. at the Marion County Funeral Home. The service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Marion County Funeral Home Chapel . Burial in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Pastor John Holliday will officiate. She was preceded in death by her parents. Tuscaloosa, AL – Ms. Mary Dean Dodd Bates, age 87, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, formerly of Brilliant, Alabama, passed away Monday, May 1st, 2017 in Heritage Healthcare and Rehab in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  She was born December 10th, 1929.

Graveside service and interment, 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017, at Brilliant Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Bates is survived by her daughters, Diann Bates, Tuscaloosa, AL., and Kathy Bates of Birmingham, AL.; 1 granddaughter, Crystal Denyne Wood (Jay), Brilliant, AL.; 1 great-grandson, Dustin Wood; 1 sister Jean Dodd, Michigan; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marlin Dodd and Rosa Ingle Dodd; her husband, William Howard Bates; and 1 daughter Rhonda Sharon Hood.

Cottondale, AL – Ms. Mary Sue Roby Ballard, age 86, of Cottondale, Alabama, formerly of Fayette, Alabama, passed away Monday, May 1st, 2017, in the Hospice of West Alabama Facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Visitation, Wednesday 12 Noon at the funeral home until time of service at the graveside.  Graveside service and internment, 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017, in the Winfield City Cemetery, Winfield, Alabama.  Bro. Tim Baumgarten officiating.

Ms. Ballard was born February 20th, 1931, in Marion County, Alabama, to the late James Erastus Roby and Lillie Mae Mills Roby.  A resident of Fayette County, Alabama most of her life and a resident of Tuscaloosa, Alabama area since 1983.  She was retired as a Manager for several motels, widow of Maurice L. Ballard, and a member of Open Door Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Erastus Roby and Lillie Mae Mills Roby; her husband, Maurice L. Ballard; and 1 brother, William Thomas Roby.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Gloria Ballard Boothe of Cottondale, AL.; 1 son, Michael L. Ballard of Eutaw, AL.; 4 grandchildren, Tammy Guy, Rebecca Ballard, Brad Newman and Jennifer Turojas; 4 great-grandchildren, Tyler Newman, Sierra Cantrell, Savannah Cantrell and Rilee Turojas; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Hamilton, AL – Harry Wright “Teddy” Holloway, Sr., age 70, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Monday, May 1st, 2017 at his residence.

Memorial service, 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017, at Fulton Bridge Church in Hamilton, Alabama.  Michael Stancil officiating.  Burial in Fulton Bridge Cemetery in Hamilton, Marion County, Alabama.

Harry Wright “Teddy” Holloway was a 1965 graduate of Hamilton High School in Hamilton, Alabama.  He was born January 27th, 1947, in Marion County, Alabama to the late Elmer Connie and Drue Wright Holloway.

He is survived by his children, Katrina Holloway (Brad) Smith and Harry (Amy) Holloway, Jr.; grandchildren, John Haden Smith, Harry Wright Holloway, III (Trey), and Mason Frederick Holloway.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Clark Holloway; parents, Elmer Connie and Drue Wright Holloway; brother, Norman Connie Holloway; and granddaughter, Maggie Smith.
