Haleyville, AL – Barbara Lipsey Sartin, age 68, of Haleyville, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018 at Brookwood Medical Center.

Ms. Sartin was born in Missouri on Saturday, September 17th, 1949 to Joe and Lois Lipsey.

Visitation, Friday, January 26th, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., service time, at the Marion County Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Hollis Boyd officiating. Burial in New Bethel Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lois Lipsey.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Terry Sartin; 2 children, Patricia Dickinson (husband, Jeff), Jeff Sartin (wife, Ashley); 5 grandchildren, Chad Dickinson, Matthew Sartin, Jacob Sartin, Jessey Sartin, James Sartin; 6 great-grandchildren, Kyah Sartin, Braden Dickinson, Calum Dickinson, D.J. Hamilton, AL – Bessie Hight Whitehead, age 107, of Hamilton, Alabama passed away on Saturday, January 6th, 2018 at the North Ms. Medical Center in Hamilton.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 13th, 2018 from 1:00 until service time at 3:00 at the Hamilton First Baptist Church, Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Whitehead was born on November 17th, 1910 in Hamilton, Alabama to John McDonald Hight and Mary Jane Stidham Hight. Bessie was a graduate of Hamilton High School and obtained a teaching certificate from Jacksonville State University.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lewis Whitehead, of Hamilton, Alabama, and by her youngest son, William Charles Whitehead, also of Hamilton, Alabama.

Mrs. Whitehead is survived by her oldest son, Robert “Bob” Whitehead; daughter-in-law, Patricia Ann Whitehead; grandchildren, Randy (Lesley) Whitehead of Fayette, Alabama, Debbie (Jerry) Green of Hamilton, Alabama, Lisa Runyan of Aliceville, Alabama, Pam (Dorn) Cagle of Pell City, Alabama, and Loyd (Kathy) Whitehead of Ashville, Alabama; 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Her interests included family, gardening, sewing, and reading.

Ruby Gray “Johnnie” Webb McGuffie, age 89, of Birmingham, Alabama, Formerly of Marion County, Alabama, passed away peacefully Monday evening, January 8th, 2018. She was well-loved and will be greatly missed. Johnnie was office manager at McGuffie Heating and Cooling for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bert “Boots” McGuffie; parents, Felix and Vela Webb; step-mother Edna Webb; 5 brothers, Clarence, Lecil, Harold “Bill”, Ray, and Glenn Webb; sisters, Helen Webb McGuffie and Nellie Webb Crenshaw. She is survived by a son, Joe Allcorn (Carolyn) and her daughter, Shirley Black Bryant (Johnny); a sister, Dora Jones (Harold); and a host of nieces and nephews. A memorial service held on Saturday, January 13th, 2018 at 3 PM, Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with a visitation beginning at 2 PM.
