Hamilton, AL – Elizabeth Jane Emerson Powless, age 65, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Thursday, August 30th, 2018 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Visitation, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 1st, 2018 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Hamilton, Alabama.  Funeral service, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, following visitation, at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in the Hamilton City Cemetery, Hamilton, Alabama.

Survivors include her husband, James Powless; 2 children, Leah Powless Homan and Jonathan (Carrie) Powless; 2 grandchildren, Emerson and John Marlin; 2 sisters, Phyllis Emerson Bancroft and Deborah Emerson; 1 brother, Patrick (Dana) Emerson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dexter and Betty Sue Turner Emerson; 1 sister, Judy Emerson Burleson; and 1 grandchild, Mary Beth.

Brilliant, AL – Mr. Edward Ray “Ed” Flippo, age 70, of Brilliant, Alabama, passed away Thursday, August 16th, 2018 at his residence.

Visitation, Saturday, August 18th, 2018, 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. (service time) at the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel in Winfield, Alabama. Funeral service, 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 18th, 2018 at the funeral home following visitation. Burial in the Center Cemetery. Eddie Ayers officiating.

Mr. Flippo worked in the coal mines and with Robertson Excavating for many years as a heavy equipment operator, until recently working side by side with his brother Ricky in his cleaning business.

He is survived by his brothers, Ricky Flippo of Brilliant, AL. and Danny (Brenda) Flippo of KS.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Larkin Edward “Buck” and Viola Estes Flippo; sisters, Joann Sandlin, and Kathy Franks; brothers, Charles Ray Flippo and Michael Flippo.

Timothy Lee Bostick, age 60, passed away Monday August 6th, 2018.

Visitation, Tuesday, August 14th, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m., at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with Military Honors. Burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Hamilton, Marion County, Alabama.

Tim was born February 22nd, 1958, in Anniston, Alabama to Janice Bostick and the late Hoyt Lee Bostick.

He is survived by his sons, Cody Bostick and Cole Bostick; his mother, Janice Bostick; brother, Toby Bostick; and sister, Tracy Clingan; girlfriend of 14 years, Dot Kelley; and mother of his children, Rhonda Breton.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hoyt Lee Bostick.

Eldridge, AL – Mr. Charles Waylon “Tommy” Tucker, age 84, of Eldridge, Alabama, passed away Saturday, August 11th, 2018 at his residence.

Visitation, 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 13th, 2018 at the Eldridge Church of Christ in Eldridge, Alabama. Funeral service, 12:00 noon, Tuesday, August 14th, 2018, at the Eldridge Church of Christ. Burial in the Kelley Cemetery. Gilbert Behel, Derek Porter, and Lonnie Ingram officiating.

Mr. Tucker was born July 5th, 1934 in Fayette County, Alabama, to the late Cecil and Lucille Sprinkle Tucker.  He was a member of the Eldridge Church of Christ and a Volunteer Fireman with Eldridge Fire Department.  He grew up on his family farm in Fayette County, Alabama, where he enjoyed spending his spare time fishing from the creek banks.  He worked in the auto industry in Detroit, Michigan for Chrysler Corporation until being drafted into the United States Army in 1957 during the Korean war.  Upon his return from service, Tommy worked in the mining industry until 1991 when he started delivering parts for Scott’s Auto Salvage. Mr. Tucker loved camping, hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patsy Long Tucker; daughters, Vickie Cosby (Kevin) and Sherrie Behel (Wade); 1 son Scott Tucker (Meloney); 7 grandchildren, Shaun Cosby (Ashley), Luke Cantrell (Amanda), Seth Cosby, Tyler Behel (Brittany), Chelle Tucker Phillips (Mike), Hayden Behel and Wesley Tucker (Chelsea); 7 great-grandchildren, Kate Cantrell, Preston Cantrell, Owen Cosby, Sam Cantrell, Waylon Behel, Wright Cantrell, and South Behel; 3 sisters, Margie Sue Wallace (Jim), Glenda Logan (Veston) and Donna Turner (Tommy); 2 brothers, Johnny Tucker (Betty) and Larry Tucker (Dorothy); 1 brother-in-law, Wayne Riggs; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Lucille Sprinkle Tucker; 1 sister, Louise Tucker Riggs; 1 niece, Renee Hayes Wheat; and 1 nephew, Grant Tucker.
