He married the love of his life, Barbara Pate Parrish on December 31, 1958. He lived in Winfield for over 20 years where he was definitely an entrepreneur, he operated his own café, worked at the Pate Coal Co., Pate Chevrolet, Pepsi Cola, Sears, and Roebuck, operated Benny Parrish mobile homes, all before settling as a tire broker operating Benny Parrish Tire Company until his retirement. He moved to Guntersville in 1987 where he lived for 16 years before moving to Pike Road. He was a member of Landmark Church of Christ, the American Legion, Tide Pride, and his local Hardee’s Coffee Club.
