Mr. Bobby Wayne Chandler, age 74, of Detroit, Alabama, passed away Monday, December 21st, 2015, at DCH – Health System in Northport, Alabama.

Visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 30th, 2015, at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel in Hamilton, Alabama.  Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 30th, following visitation.  Elvis Cochran officiating.  Burial in Cooper Cemetery, Marion County, Alabama.

Mr. Chandler was born January 25th,1941, in Lamar County, Alabama to Troy and Zettia Miller Chandler.

He is survived by 7 children, Toni, Donnie, James, Taja, Lawond, Edward, and Candy; 2 sisters, Daris Robison, and JoAnn Lupkins; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

Hamilton, AL – Ms. Debra “Debi” Collins McMillian age 58, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Saturday, October 31st, 2015 at her residence.

Visitation, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 4th, 2015, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Hamilton, Alabama. Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 5th, 2015, at the funeral home chapel. Burial in Nichols/Lay Cemetery in Hamilton, Marion County, Alabama.

Ms. McMillian was born June 15th, 1957, in Michigan, to the late Terrence Collins, Sr. and Joanne Moyer Collins.

She is survived by her husband, Pete McMillian; 1 son, Frankie Cochran, Jr.; grandchildren, Tyler Veres and Kayla Killion; sisters, Eillen (Edward) Vignear, Christine (Jeral) Arndt, Theresa (Mark) Keck and Veronica (Allen) Dingess; brother, Terrence (Wendy) Collins; Special Nephew, Jon Jennings, and a host of Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Terrence and Joanne Collins; grandparents, Martha Moyer, and Vearl Moyer; 1 son, Kevin Cochran; and 1 brother, Patrick Collins.

White_Benton_Turrentine_20150221Oct. 13,1921 – Feb. 19,2015 – Benton Turrentine White, 93, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015. He spent his early childhood days in Hamilton, Alabama. He moved to Birmingham as a teenager where he continued to reside the rest of his life. A veteran of World War II, he flew 11 bombing missions over Europe as a B-17 co-pilot in the Eighth Air Force. He earned the rank of Second Lieutenant. After the war, he returned to Auburn University and graduated in 1947 with a Mechanical Engineering degree. In 1953, he married the love of his life, Anne Moore, and they celebrated fifty years of married life together. He began his career as a draftsman with U.S. Pipe, which later became Walter Energy. He was a key contributor in several invention processes that improved the quality and production of pipe products. He also was instrumental in beginning the mining division, and designed and managed this project from its inception to its implementation. He was a long time member of Grace United Methodist Church, and most recently attended Irondale United Methodist Church. He enjoyed Auburn football, music, golf, and painting. Art was a special passion of his which he pursued until his last days. He was a man of quiet demeanor, strong character, and a true southern gentleman. When you were to talking Ben White, you felt like you were the most important person in the room. He was a very kind and caring man, who loved people and continued to make new friends throughout his entire life. He will be dearly missed. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Anne Moore White, and his brother, Victor Rush White, Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Melinda McNamee (Charles) and Catherine Lathem (Terry), his grandchildren Lauren Gomes (Joey), Brooke Hoekstra (Justin), Michelle Lathem, Lee Anne Irwin (Michael), Charles Benton McNamee, six great-grandchildren, and niece Sally Hamilton (Jay). There will be a visitation on Monday, February 23, from 4:00-7:00 pm and a funeral service on Tuesday, February 24, 1:00 pm, both at Ridout’s Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Rd., Homewood. Memorials may be made to one of Ben’s favorite organizations, Tuscaloosa Rotary Honor Flight, P.O. Box 2403 Tuscaloosa, AL (205-759-9534) , which honors American veterans by flying them to Washington D.C. to see their memorials at no cost.

Visitation, 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 12th, 2015, at the Marion County Funeral Home in Hamilton, Alabama.  Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 12th, following visitation, at the funeral home chapel.  Bro. Ted Burleson officiating. Burial in Lamar Memory Gardens, Vernon, Lamar County, Alabama.

Elizabeth Ann Mordecai was born February 24th, 1949, in Marion County, Alabama, in Marion County, Alabama, to Marion Doris Mordecai and Kara Jordan Mordecai. She was a 1967 graduate of Hamilton High School in Hamilton, Alabama. Ann never married and chose to devote her life to her teaching profession. She loved her students and kept up with many of them even until their marriage and having children. She took trips with friends and loved to talk about the things she had seen and done. She enjoyed life and loved her many friends.

She is survived by very special friends and caregivers, Corinne Bobo, Anna Collins, Sharon Sulephen; aunt, Lucy Jordan; cousins, Ivela Mordecai, Mitzi Ford, Michael Jordan; a host of friends; her loving church family at Hamilton Church of Christ; and the co-workers at Hamilton Elementary School where she worked for thirty-nine years until she retired.

She is survived by very special friends and caregivers, Corinne Bobo, Anna Collins, Sharon Sulephen; aunt, Lucy Jordan; cousins, Ivela Mordecai, Mitzi Ford, and Michael Jordan; a host of friends; her loving church family at Hamilton Church of Christ; and the co-workers at Hamilton Elementary School where she worked for thirty-nine years until she retired.

Ann was preceded in death by her father, Marion Doris Mordecai (1913 – 1980) and her mother, Kara Jordan Mordecai (1916 – 1972).  Her parents were married January 26th, 1946.

Mr. Barnes was born March 8, 1943 to the late Purvy Ashmore Barnes and Audie Letecia Green Barnes.  Mr. Barnes was a resident of Guin for most of his life, a member of Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church, and was retired from Continental Conveyor after 30 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years and 10 months, Mrs. Imogene Rich Barnes of Twin, AL.; 1 daughter, Teresa (Allen) Hendrix, of Twin, AL.; 2 sons, Doug (Ann) Barnes, of Twin, AL.; and David (Deloris) Barnes, of Sulligent, AL; 7 grandchildren, Holly Hendrix, Dillon Barnes, Courtney Barnes, Hunter Barnes, Brittney Barnes, Justin Hendrix, and Garrett Barnes; 1 sister, Faye (Paul) Hunsinger; and 4 brothers, Clayton (Linda)  Barnes, Roy Harold Barnes, Freddy Barnes, and Eugene (Sue) Barnes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Purvy Ashmore Barnes and Audie Letecia Green Barnes; 2 brothers, Walter Barnes and Wyman Barnes; and 1 granddaughter, Heather Hendrix.
