Birmingham, AL – Elizabeth Annette Price, age 18, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away Monday, February 12th, 2018 in Birmingham.

Visitation, Thursday, February 15th, 2018 from 12:00 Noon until service time at 1:00 p.m., at the Allridge Assembly of God Church located in Shelby County, Alabama. Burial in Antioch Cemetery also located in Shelby County.

Ms. Price is survived by her mother, Misty Leatherwood; father, David (Joann) Price; 6 siblings, Aubrie Price, Danielle Busby, Michael Price, Cayden Price, Shelby Glass, Chelsea Jones; 1 nephew, Austin Price; 1 niece, Brailey Gray; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, David Price Sr.; grandmothers, Annette Price and Sue Leatherwood; aunt, Sheila Stern; and uncle, Timothy Price.

Ruby Gray Webb McGuffie
(1928 – 2018)
Ruby Gray “Johnnie” Webb McGuffie, age 89, of Birmingham, Alabama, Formerly of Marion County, Alabama, passed away peacefully Monday evening, January 8th, 2018. She was well-loved and will be greatly missed. Johnnie was office manager at McGuffie Heating and Cooling for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bert “Boots” McGuffie; parents, Felix and Vela Webb; step-mother Edna Webb; 5 brothers, Clarence, Lecil, Harold “Bill”, Ray, and Glenn Webb; sisters, Helen Webb McGuffie and Nellie Webb Crenshaw. She is survived by a son, Joe Allcorn (Carolyn) and her daughter, Shirley Black Bryant (Johnny); a sister, Dora Jones (Harold); and a host of nieces and nephews. A memorial service held on Saturday, January 13th, 2018 at 3 PM, Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with a visitation beginning at 2 PM.

Birmingham, AL – Mr. James Graham Price, age 79, of Birmingham, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 21st, 2017.

He was born near Hamilton, Alabama, in Marion County, to James Victor Price and Ruby Lee Byrd Price and later moved to Birmingham, Alabama where he graduated from Phillips High School. He earned a scholarship to play football for the University of Alabama, was injured and then played for Jacksonville State University. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard and was retired from CSX Railroad.

He is survived by three daughters, Wendelyn Leigh Price (Birmingham, AL), Jennifer Anne Price (Birmingham, AL), and Ginger Leigh Price Wallach (New York City, NY).  He is also survived by grandchildren: Jackson Dominick, Kellyn Murch, John Murch, David Wallach and Alexander Wallach.

Graham also leaves behind his dear friend, Dolores Turner; several first cousins in and from this area including Don Gann, Dow Gann, and Roger Gann, Harold Smith, Joy Smith Robinson, Druellen Smith Northam, and Frankie Jean Smith Jones, Lynwood Byrd, and Donald Byrd; and a host of other relatives and friends. (Any corrections or additions will be greatfully acknowledged and promptly added.)

Graham was preceded in death by his parents, James Victor Price and Ruby Lee Byrd Price; his brother, Wilburn Duane Price; maternal grandparents, “Chess” Chester Walter Byrd and Ophelia Young Byrd; his uncles, Clyde Byrd, Elmer Byrd, Woodrow “Woodie” Byrd, and Doil Byrd; and 3 maternal aunts, Dorothy Byrd Flournoy, Inez Byrd Smith, and Willene Byrd Gann; and cousins, Peggy Byrd Scoggin, and Robert Byrd.

A celebration of life service will be on Saturday, July 29th, 2017, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Donnelly House, Southside in Birmingham, Alabama.  All friends and relatives are welcome to attend. John 3:16

Birmingham, AL – Mr. Morgan Earl Taylor. age 61. of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away Sunday October 23rd, 2016, in Talladega, Alabama.

Visitation, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 26th, 2016, at Barnesville Church.  Funeral Service, 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 27th, 2016, at Barnesville Church.  Burial in Rudicell Cemetery, Hamilton, Marion County, Alabama.

Earl Taylor was a 1973 graduate of Hamilton High School in Hamilton, Alabama and he attended the Northwest Alabama Technical College in Hamilton, Alabama.

Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Pamela “Pam” Taylor; his mother, Lenora “Tootsie” Taylor; children, Shannon Sims (David), Jason Taylor (Stephanie), Brandy Duck (fiancé, Wesley McCutcheon), Landon Taylor, and Micah Taylor; grandchildren, Cody McCullar (Kellie), Kyle Sims, Ally Taylor, Kade Sims, Brady Taylor, Brodie Taylor, Drake Sims, and Dustin English; great-grandchild, Korben McCullar; sisters, Gail (Randle) Mills, and Phyllis Taylor; brother, Ronnie (Rita) Taylor; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hansel Taylor; and daughter, Kristy McCullar.

Birmingham, AL – July 14, 1932 – April 10, 2015 – Wilburn Duane Price, age 82, of Birmingham, Alabama, (born in Marion County, Alabama) passed away April 10th, 2015.

Funeral service, 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 12th, 2015, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.  Visitation 1 hour prior to service.  Burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.  Rev. Melvin Salter, officiating.

Mr. Price was a member of Gardendale Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Velma Price; 2 daughters, Debbie Pollard (Keith), and Sharon Magnuson; 1 brother, Graham Price (Delores); 4 grandchildren, Megan Yates (Anderson), Blake Pollard, Price Magnuson and Cole Magnuson (Alexa); 3 great-grandchildren, Mason Yates, Lizzy Yates and Grayson Magnuson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vic and Ruby Byrd Price.

White_Benton_Turrentine_20150221Oct. 13,1921 – Feb. 19,2015 – Benton Turrentine White, 93, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015. He spent his early childhood days in Hamilton, Alabama. He moved to Birmingham as a teenager where he continued to reside the rest of his life. A veteran of World War II, he flew 11 bombing missions over Europe as a B-17 co-pilot in the Eighth Air Force. He earned the rank of Second Lieutenant. After the war, he returned to Auburn University and graduated in 1947 with a Mechanical Engineering degree. In 1953, he married the love of his life, Anne Moore, and they celebrated fifty years of married life together. He began his career as a draftsman with U.S. Pipe, which later became Walter Energy. He was a key contributor in several invention processes that improved the quality and production of pipe products. He also was instrumental in beginning the mining division, and designed and managed this project from its inception to its implementation. He was a long time member of Grace United Methodist Church, and most recently attended Irondale United Methodist Church. He enjoyed Auburn football, music, golf, and painting. Art was a special passion of his which he pursued until his last days. He was a man of quiet demeanor, strong character, and a true southern gentleman. When you were to talking Ben White, you felt like you were the most important person in the room. He was a very kind and caring man, who loved people and continued to make new friends throughout his entire life. He will be dearly missed. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Anne Moore White, and his brother, Victor Rush White, Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Melinda McNamee (Charles) and Catherine Lathem (Terry), his grandchildren Lauren Gomes (Joey), Brooke Hoekstra (Justin), Michelle Lathem, Lee Anne Irwin (Michael), Charles Benton McNamee, six great-grandchildren, and niece Sally Hamilton (Jay). There will be a visitation on Monday, February 23, from 4:00-7:00 pm and a funeral service on Tuesday, February 24, 1:00 pm, both at Ridout’s Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Rd., Homewood. Memorials may be made to one of Ben’s favorite organizations, Tuscaloosa Rotary Honor Flight, P.O. Box 2403 Tuscaloosa, AL (205-759-9534) , which honors American veterans by flying them to Washington D.C. to see their memorials at no cost.
