Age:  86

Born:  July 26, 1933, in Sulligent, Alabama to the late Grady Herron and Alma Harper Herron. She owned and operated Detroit Café and Hershel’s Service Station. Exie was a Charter member of the Detroit Church of God. She enjoyed going to church, spending time with her family, shopping, and working with flowers.*

Died:  Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Visitation:  6:00 – 9:00 p.m., Thursday, October 31, 2019, at the Detroit Church of God in Detroit, Alabama.

Funeral Service:  2:00 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2019, at the Detroit Church of God in Detroit, Alabama.

Burial:  Carter Cemetery

Bio:  He was the husband of Brenda Guyton Markham. They were married May 14, 1961 and had been married for 57 years. Pat graduated from Sulligent High School in 1961, Sulligent, Alabama.  A United States Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War, he was stationed in Germany and served as a medic in a hospital. He worked for Detroit Slacks, Robertson Brothers, Trailer Plant in Guin, Alabama and was retired from NTN Bower after 30 years. He was of the Baptist Faith.*

Ms. Ray, born June 1st, 1985, in Amory, Mississippi, to Danny and Patsy Shedd Ray.  She was co-owner/franchisee of GiGi’s Cupcakes in Tupelo, Mississippi.

She is survived by her fiancé, Colby Dodd; her parents, Danny and Patsy Ray; 1 aunt, Joan (Ray) Weaver; mother-in-law, Donna Dodd and father-in-law, Leon Dodd; and a host of friends and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Travis and Emily Shedd, grandfather, James Ray and grandmother, Mary Ray.

Tonya was born Monday, January 22nd, 1968, in Amory, Mississippi to Ray and Linda Rudicell Thompson.

She is survived by her husband, Kent Maxwell; 1 son, Brandon Maxwell; 1 daughter, Madison (Allen) Cayson; parents, Ray and Linda Thompson; 2 brothers, Brent (Lisa) Thompson, and Bruce Thompson; mother-in-law, Ruth Maxwell; 2 sisters-in-law, Sharon (Mike) Boyles, and Martha Taylor; 3 nephews, Seth (Lindsey) Thompson, Chad Thompson, and Sawyer Thompson; 1 niece, Savannah Thompson; 1 great-nephew, Evan Thompson; 2 aunts, Sue Tidwell, and Betty (Jack) Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
