Paul Anthony Gunnels, age 52, of Odessa, Texas (formerly of Winfield, Alabama) passed away Friday, December 9, 2011, at Medical Center Hospital.

Funeral services were privately held.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel And Crematory , Odessa, Texas.

Mr. Gunnels was born November 27, 1959, in Winfield, Alabama, to Junior Robert Gunnels and Nettie Taylor Gunnels.  He was an electrician.  Paul married Terrie D. Harrell in Alabama, November 20, 1996.  He was a good-hearted, hard working man, who believed in living under the guidance of the Man Upstairs.  He was very smart and a jack-of-all-trades; he could do just about anything he set his mind to do.  He enjoyed gardening and loved animals.  The Gunnels family is a very close family and Paul was very close to his kids and grandkids.  He would French-braid the girl’s hair.  They always called him “Pop”.  Because he could always be counted on for a quick response to anything they needed, they say that “Snap Crackle Pop” describes him in a nutshell.

He is survived by his wife, Terrie Gunnels of Odessa, TX.; 4 daughters, Kisty Middleton of Odessa, TX., Bonnie Keneson and husband Jessie Allen of Odessa, TX., Sara Constantine and husband Dave of McCamey, TX., and Valerie Farek of Odessa, TX.; 2 sons,  Robert Dale Keneson and Mikey Lee Keneson, both of Odessa, TX.; 3 sisters, Vera Hill and husband Terry of Detroit, TX., Elsie Bates and husband Phil of Winfield, AL., and Lenora Hubbert of Fayette, AL.; 1 brother, David Gunnels and wife Ann of Hallsville, TX.; and 16 grandchildren.
