Visitation:  1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at the Guin First Baptist Church in Guin, AL.

Funeral Service:  2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, following visitation at the church.

Officiating:  Bro Kenny Hatcher

Burial:  Guin City Cemetery, Guin, Marion County, AL.

Survived By:

Wife:  Joyce Abbott O’Mary of Winfield, AL

Daughter:  Mamie Christy O’Mary of Winfield, AL

Thomas Lee O’Mary of Tuscaloosa, AL

James Brayan O’Mary of Winfield, AL

James Redden O’Mary was born August 7, 1942, to Clarence and Rethie Harris O’Mary.  He lived all of his life in the Guin, Alabama area and was a member of First Baptist Church in Guin, Alabama.  James loved working on lawn mowers, fishing and playing guitar.  He retired from REA Electric as a Groundsman.

Born:  November 6, 1934 in Paragould, Arkansas to the late Herschel McDaniel and Ila Garner McDaniel.

Died:  Friday, March 8, 2019, at Northwest Medical Center, Winfield, AL.

Visitation:  6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2019 at the Guin First Methodist Church in Guin, Alabama.

Body to Lie-In-State:  10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2019, prior to service at the church auditorium.

Funeral Service:  11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the Guin First United Methodist Church in Guin, Alabama.

Sara, born in Paragould, Arkansas, lived most of her life in Guin, Alabama.  She was a member of the Guin First United Methodist Church, an honorary member of the Methodist Men, and the Cokesberry Sunday School Class Treasurer.  Retired from 44 years of work with the Marion County Banking Company and South Trust in Guin, Alabama.  A Member of the Guin Garden Club in Guin, Sara also supported many civic organizations.

Linda Stone Mobley, age 74, of Guin, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, November 26th, 2014, in the Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

Visitation, 12:00 Noon – 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 28th, 2014, at the Guin First United Methodist Church. Funeral service, 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 28th, 2014 at the church, following visitation. Bro. Tim Alexander officiating. Burial in the Guin City Cemetery.

Linda Stone was born June 30th, 1940 in Marion County, Alabama, to the late Leon and Mae Dyar Stone. She had lived in Guin most of her life and had retired after working 34 years for the Department of Human Services. She was a member of the Guin First United Methodist Church. She loved sewing and her grandchildren and working with Santa’s Workshop.

She is survived by her husband, Nathan Mobley of Guin, AL.; 3 daughters, Karen (Keith) Wilemon of Hartselle, AL., Jennifer (Andy) Couch of Mountain Brook, AL., and Andrea (Stephen) Knight of Guin, AL.; 6 grandchildren, Jace (Tiffany) Wilemon, Cade Wilemon, Catherine Grace Couch, Colin Couch, Seth Knight and Caleb Knight; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Mae Dyar Stone; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.

Ms. Faye Wilson Burleson, age 75, of Guin, Alabama, passed away Saturday, April 13th, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Visitation, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 14th, 2013 at the Norwood Funeral Home in Guin, Alabama. Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 15th, 2013, at the Guin First United Methodist Church. Bro. Randy Wright and Bro. Tim Alexander officiating. Burial in the Guin City Cemetery, Guin, Alabama.

Ms. Burleson was born in Guin, Alabama, to the late Julius Walter and Daisy Nell Springfield Wilson. She was a lifelong resident of Guin, Alabama and had been a member of the En Avant Study Club. She retired as Secretary for Marion County High School after 42 years of service, and was a member of the Guin First United Methodist Church where she served as pianist for 52 years.*

She is survived by her husband, Houston “Jack” Burleson, Guin, AL.; 2 sons, Mark (Susan) Burleson, Hamilton, AL.; and Tim (Susan) Burleson, Nauvoo, AL.; 5 grandchildren, Meredith Tittle, Aaron Burleson, Victoria Conley, McClaine Burleson, and Olivia Burleson; 2 great-grandchildren, Liam Conley and Darcy Tittle; and 1 brother, Don (Agnes) Wilson, Hamilton, AL.

Ms. Carolyn Baird, age 88, of Guin, Alabama, passed away Sunday, December 2nd, 2012, at the Heritage Health Care in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Visitation, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 5th, 2012, at the Guin First Baptist Church in Guin, Alabama.  Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 5th, 2012, following visitation, at the church.  Rev. Scott Stokes and Rev. Don Graham officiating.  Burial in Guin City Cemetery, Guin, Alabama.

Mrs. Baird was born December 12, 1923 in Guin, the daughter of the late Luther C. Akers and Earlie Weeks Akers.  She married Roy Baird, Jr. on December 25, 1942.  Mrs. Baird was a life-long resident of Guin.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Guin First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents,  Luther C. Akers and Earlie Weeks Akers; her husband, Roy Baird, Jr. on Sept. 2, 2006; and 2 brothers, Billy Akers and John Ray Akers.
