Hamilton, AL – Betty Joyce Calvert Jones, age 64 of Hamilton, Alabama passed away Saturday, June 9th, 2018, at her residence.

Visitation, Tuesday, June 12th, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at the Happy Hill Church. Burial will follow in Holly Springs Cemetery.

Survivors include, Children: Marlene Calvert, Frank Calvert, Christine Calvert, and Gary Calvert; 10 Grandchildren; 5 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Sister, Chuck Baty; and Life Time Friend, Robert Taylor; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Hamilton, AL – Doris J. Taylor Robertson, age 85, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Hamilton Nursing Home. She was born in Guin, Alabama on Wednesday, November 02, 1932 to S.V. “Vester” & Susie Atkinson Taylor.

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 1-2 p.m. at the Marion County Funeral Home. The service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Marion County Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Stancil officiating. Burial will be at Love Joy Cemetery Beaverton Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Banks Robertson; parents, Vester & Susie Taylor; brother, Ivy Paul Taylor.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Lawanda Cagle (husband, Roger); grandchildren, Ryan Cagle (wife, Jennifer); Erica McKinney (husband, Jonathan); great-grandchildren, Madison & MacKenzi Cagle; siblings, Joe ( Pat) Taylor, Imogene (Bruce) Eskew; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Hamilton, AL – Bessie Hight Whitehead, age 107, of Hamilton, Alabama passed away on Saturday, January 6th, 2018 at the North Ms. Medical Center in Hamilton.

Visitation will be held Saturday January 13th, 2018 from 1:00 until service time at 3:00 at the Hamilton First Baptist Church, Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Whitehead was born on November 17th, 1910 in Hamilton, Alabama to John McDonald Hight and Mary Jane Stidham Hight. Bessie was a graduate of Hamilton High School and obtained a teaching certificate from Jacksonville State University.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lewis Whitehead, of Hamilton, Alabama and by her youngest son, William Charles Whitehead, also of Hamilton, Alabama.

Mrs. Whitehead is survived by her oldest son, Robert (Bob) Whitehead; daughter-in-law, Patricia Ann Whitehead; grandchildren, Randy (Lesley) Whitehead of Fayette, Alabama, Debbie (Jerry) Green of Hamilton, Alabama, Lisa Runyan of Aliceville, Alabama, Pam (Dorn) Cagle of Pell City, Alabama, and Loyd (Kathy) Whitehead of Ashville, Alabama; 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Her interests included family, gardening, sewing and reading.

Joan Terry, age 69 of Hamilton, Alabama passed away Monday, December 11th, 2017 at her residence.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 12th, 2017 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m., at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be Wednesday December 14th, 2017 at 11:00 am at the chapel with burial to follow at New Hope Cemetery.

Survivors: Children: Sherry (Steve) Oak, Mike Castor, Jody Robbins and Robin (Corey) Dryden. Nine Grandchildren, Seven Great-Grandchildren, Sisters: Brenda (Charles) Glancey, Vicky (Terry) Dober, Brothers: Thomas Hall, Scott (Ronda) Bethel, Mother-In-Law: Ivie Terry , Sister-In-Law: Joyce (Phillip) Ingle.

She was preceded in death by, Parents: Thomas and Ora Mitchell Hall, Husband: Jack Terry, Daughters: Sheila Terry, Christy Terry, Grandson: Michael Robbins, Sister: Ann Wilson, and Brother-In-Laws: Tim and Joe Terry.

Birmingham, AL – Mr. James Graham Price, age 79, of Birmingham, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 21st, 2017.

He was born near Hamilton, Alabama, in Marion County, to James Victor Price and Ruby Lee Byrd Price and later moved to Birmingham, Alabama where he graduated from Phillips High School. He earned a scholarship to play football for the University of Alabama, was injured and then played for Jacksonville State University. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard and was retired from CSX Railroad.

He is survived by three daughters, Wendelyn Leigh Price (Birmingham, AL), Jennifer Anne Price (Birmingham, AL), and Ginger Leigh Price Wallach (New York City, NY).  He is also survived by grandchildren: Jackson Dominick, Kellyn Murch, John Murch, David Wallach and Alexander Wallach.

Graham also leaves behind his dear friend, Dolores Turner; several first cousins in and from this area including Don Gann, Dow Gann, and Roger Gann, Harold Smith, Joy Smith Robinson, Druellen Smith Northam, and Frankie Jean Smith Jones, Lynwood Byrd, and Donald Byrd; and a host of other relatives and friends. (Any corrections or additions will be greatfully acknowledged and promptly added.)

Graham was preceded in death by his parents, James Victor Price and Ruby Lee Byrd Price; his brother, Wilburn Duane Price; maternal grandparents, “Chess” Chester Walter Byrd and Ophelia Young Byrd; his uncles, Clyde Byrd, Elmer Byrd, Woodrow “Woodie” Byrd, and Doil Byrd; and 3 maternal aunts, Dorothy Byrd Flournoy, Inez Byrd Smith, and Willene Byrd Gann; and cousins, Peggy Byrd Scoggin, and Robert Byrd.

A celebration of life service will be on Saturday, July 29th, 2017, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Donnelly House, Southside in Birmingham, Alabama.  All friends and relatives are welcome to attend. John 3:16

DeLand, FL. – Helen Genovoree Williams, age 93 , of DeLand, Florida, formerly of the Bexar Community in Marion County, Alabama, passed away Sunday July 9th, 2017.

She was born November 17th, 1923, in Bexar, Marion County, Alabama, to Carlton B. Brown and Ola Tencie Nichols.  She worked Quality Control Inspector in the Electronics Industry.  She enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, gardening and flowers.  She is survived by her daughter Patricia Glover of DeLand, Florida, her son John W. Davis of Cincinnati, Ohio as well as 5 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of other friends and relatives. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Thursday, July 13th, 2017, at 9:00 a.m., with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Hamilton Funeral Home in Hamilton, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers the family would like for donations to be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
