Funeral Service: 1: 00 p.m., Friday, January 10, following visitation, at the the First Baptist Church in Hamilton, Alabama.

Graveside Service: At Franklin Memory Gardens in Russellville, Alabama.

Bio: Born in Spruce Pine, Alabama, on January 3, 1938, Joyce graduated from Russellville High School, Russellville, Alabama, in 1956, and attended Florence State (now the University of North Alabama) where she was head majorette with the school’s marching band. She married Don West in 1958. She graduated from UNA in 1970, where she later earned her master’s degree. After 25 years of teaching, she retired from Hamilton Middle School in 1999. She was a member of First Baptist Church, an extremely talented artist, and spent her retirement years enjoying her friends and family, especially keeping up with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife and mother, and a great friend to all.*

She took great pride working in her flowers and her garden.  She shared freely with her friends and neighbors. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 24th, 2013, at the Hamilton First Baptist Church in Hamilton, Alabama.  Funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 24th, at the Church.  Burial in Shiloh Cemetery, Hamilton, Marion County, Alabama.

Ms. Manscill was born in Marion County, Alabama, to the late John G. and Margie V. Jackson Davis.

She is survived by 1 brother, Jim (Dale) Davis; 2 sisters, Mildred Davis (Robert) McGuire, and Mary Sue Davis Gann; and a host of nieces, nephews, cherished friends and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Manscill, July 1st, 1981; 1 son, John Manscill; 1 daughter, Margie Manscill; her parents, John G. and Margie V. Jackson Davis; 1 sister, Lena Ozell Davis Cherry.
