Betty Jean Clark Whitman of Hamilton, Alabama

Age: 77

Born: August 29, 1942, to Elmer Clark and Lillie Mae Clay Clark in Hamilton, Alabama. Betty was a 1960 graduate of Hamilton High School, a member of Fulton Bridge Baptist Church in Hamilton and was employed by the Auburn Extension System for 41 years.

Died: Tuesday, August 11, 2020 in the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Visitation: 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2020 at the Bowen Funeral Home in Winfield, Alabama.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home chapel.

Officiating: Brother Michael Stancil.

Survived by:

Husband of 51 years: Hugh Whitman of Hamilton, AL.

Brother: Donny Clark (Linda) of Hamilton, AL.

Niece: Roxanne Whitman of IL.

Nephews: Adam Don Clark (Sarah) of Augusta, GA., Brandon Allen Clark (Alisha) of Pelham, AL., Cody Michael Clark (Ali) of Hamilton, AL., James Wayne Whiteman (Vickie) of IL., and Michael Whitman of IL.

Great Nieces: Teagan, Finleigh, Sierra and Dawson.

And a host of other relatives, church family and friends.

Died:  Monday, October 21, 2019, at his residence.

Visitation:  11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2019, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Hamilton, Alabama.

Funeral Service:  1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 24, following visitation, at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial:  Hamilton City Cemetery

Survived By:

Wife:  Becky Wiley Nix

Daughter:  Traci (Myron) Chandler

Grandson:  Hayden Chandler

Fairhope, AL – Beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, Kathy Cooper Slover, age 53, of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away on December 5th, 2014 at her home in Fairhope.

Private graveside services will be held at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.

Mrs. Slover was born December 24, 1960, in Birmingham, AL, daughter of the late J.E. and Katie Cooper of Hamilton, AL.

She was a 1984 graduate of Mississippi State University where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority and majorette captain of MSU’s Famous Maroon Band. She was an ardent Bulldog fan and supporter of MSU athletics. Mrs. Slover was active in the Madison, MS community serving as co-chair of Madison Ridgeland Academy’s Gardens of Madison County Fundraiser and as a life member of the Junior Auxiliary of Madison, Ridgeland Mississippi.

She is survived by her husband, Roland M. Slover of Fairhope, daughter Kaylee Slover Ellis and son-in-law Parker of Fairhope and son Roland M. Slover, Jr. of Nashville, TN and Fairhope. She is also survived by her sister Lane Cooper of Cleveland, Ohio and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to The Colon Cancer Alliance or MD Anderson Cancer Center.
