Joann Rea Mills, age 65, of Albany, Georgia, formerly of Hodges, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, July 11th, 2012, at Palmyra Nursing Home.

In Albany, GA. – The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Mathews Funeral Home.

In Hamilton, AL. – Visitation, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 17th, 2012, at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel in Hamilton, Alabama.  Funeral service, 11:00 a.m., following visitation, at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Danny Carter officiating.  Burial in Old Line Cemetery, Hodges, Franklin County, Alabama.

Ms. Mills was born in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Douglas Rea and Leatrice Joy Lawler Ramsey.  She had resided in Albany, Georgia since she was a child except for the time she was employed at Roosevelt Warms Springs Institute for Rehabilitation in Warm Springs, Georgia.  She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by 1 sister, Joyce Rea (Jim) Bridges of Las Vegas, NV.; 3 brothers, Juston Rea, Ricky Rea, and David Rea, all of Hamilton, AL.; 3 nephews, James Bridges, Clint Bridges, and Jeff Bridges; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and special friends, Becky Weaver, Julie Burnell, and Gene Corley, all of Albany, GA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Douglas Rea and Leatrice Joy Lawler Ramsey, two brothers, James Rea, and Jerry Rea.
