Hamilton, AL – Mr. Royal Dean Williams, age 72, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Friday, September 14th, 2018, at his residence.

Visitation, 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 18th, 2018 at Restoration Community Church, 150 County Road 148, Guin, Alabama.  Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 18th, 2018 at Restoration Community Church, 150 County Road 148, Guin, Alabama. Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery Hwy. 43 North, Hamilton, Alabama.

Mr. Williams was born May 13th, 1946, in Okolona, Mississippi to the late Moses and Gertrude McKay Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Lola Williams; 3 sons, Josh (Jessica) Williams, Brad Williams and Barry Williams; 1 brother, Doyal (Pat) Williams; 1 sister, Brenda Williams Myhand; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Moses and Gertrude McKay Williams; grandchildren, Abigail and Makalie Williams; 3 brothers, Rayburn Williams, Junior Williams, and Eugene Williams; and 2 sisters, Ludie Mae Williams Johnson, and Virginia Williams Godsey.

Chicago, IL – Mr. Orbie Lee Williams, age 74, of Chicago, Illinois, formerly of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Thursday night, March 2nd, 2017, at Swedish Covenant Hospital, in Chicago, Illinois.

Graveside funeral service, 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 3rd, at Shiloh Cemetery, in Marion County, Alabama.

Orbie Lee Williams was born May 10th, 1942 on a farm near Hamilton, Alabama to the late Travis B. and Bessie Williams. He attended Hamilton High School from 1956 to 1960 and played guard position of the Hamilton Aggies football team and was selected by the West Alabama High School Conference for the All Conference Football Squad. He attended the University of North Alabama from 1960 to 1962, and then joined his older brother Waymon in Chicago to work in the television repair business.

He is survived by 3 sisters, Marie Williams Sandlin, Earlene Williams Stephenson and Elaine Williams McDaniel; 1 brother, Jerry Williams; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Travis B. and Bessie Williams; and his brothers Waymon and Ivan Williams.

Carthage, TN – Mr. Hurshel Wayne Wiginton, age 79, of Carthage, Tennessee, formerly of Hamilton, Alabama, and founding member of the singing group, The Nashville Edition, passed away Monday, March 6th, 2017, at his daughter’s residence.

Visitation, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., Thursday, March 9th, 2017, at Poplar Log Church in Hamilton, Alabama.  Funeral service, 12:00 Noon, Friday, March 10th, 2017, at the church. Burial in Poplar Log Cemetery in Hamilton, Marion County, Alabama.

Hurshel Wayne Wiginton was born in Hamilton, Marion County, Alabama, the son of the late Walter Booker and Velar Mitchell Wiginton.  He started out in gospel music and performed harmony on recordings in Muscle Shoals, Alabama (including the Percy Sledge hit “When a Man Loves a Woman”), and Memphis before moving to Nashville in the 1960s.*  His group, The Nashville Edition, performed as regular cast members of the television show, Hee Haw (1969 – 1997).

Hurshel is survived by his ex-wife, Doris Wilson Wiginton; his daughters Dana Jo Swafford (Greg Swafford), Tina ReShea Goodrow (Robert Goodrow) and Anna Peteese Wiginton; son Barry Sean Wiginton; grandchildren Blake Allen Simmons and Chancelor Adam Wiginton; great-granddaughter Brooklynn Capri Simmons; and siblings Adgil Marie Wiginton Lovett, James Edward Wiginton and Roger Dale Wiginton.

“Our favorite bass singer may no longer be with us but will live on forever in the music he recorded,” his family said in a statement. “He now will serve in the greatest group of all times as one of God’s angels.”**

Visitation, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.,  Sunday, February 19th, 2017, at the Bowen Funeral Home in Winfield, Alabama.  Funeral service, 3:00 p.m., Sunday following the visitation, at the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel.  Brother Venlon Bradford officiating.  Burial in the Goodwater Cemetery.

Bobby Lacy, Brad Cunningham, Greg Moore, Jason Norris, Greg Guin, Chris Newman, Mark McDonald and Tony Nicholson serving as active pallbearers; Dale Spruiell, Duell Holloway, Donald Shelton, Jeff Bostick, Bob Henger and Solon Cunningham serving as honorary pallbearers.

Ms. Robertson earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, devoting more than 40 years to her profession; most recently serving as the Director of Nurses at Winfield Carraway Hospital for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Robertson; son, Jeff (Kerri) Robertson; grandchildren, Kelly Rose Lindsey, (Matthew), Kensey Robertson, and Lane Robertson; great-grandson, Becton Brown; sisters, Danny Lou Spann, Bonnie Campbell, and Judy May; brothers, Benny Spann and Billy Mack Spann; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Roston Spann and Myrtie Bell Webster Spann; sisters, Polly Smith, Sarah Bull, and Reba Wheeler, and a brother, Glenn Spann.

The family extends special thanks to all of the wonderful nurses and staff at Fayette Long Term Care Center for their kind and loving care.  In lieu of flowers, a nursing scholarship fund has been set up in memory of Ms. Robertson, the family request that donations be made to the Citizens Bank of Winfield in memory of Ms. Robertson.
