Died:  Sunday, May 5, 2019, at DCH in Northport, Alabama.

Visitation:  6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at the Otts Funeral Home in Sulligent, Alabama.

Funeral Service:  2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2019, at Shiloh Baptist Church.

Burial:  Shiloh Church Cemetery, Hamilton, Marion County, Alabama.

Officiating:  Bro. Glenn Boman and Bro. Jimmy May.

Bio:  Shirley was born on November 16, 1940, in Detroit, Alabama to the late Newton Carter and the late Gracie South Carter. She was a 1959 graduate of Sulligent High School. Shirley previously worked in accounting at Omni International in Vernon, AL. She enjoyed shopping. Shirley was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.*

Ruby Gray Webb McGuffie

Ruby Gray “Johnnie” Webb McGuffie, age 89, of Birmingham, Alabama, Formerly of Marion County, Alabama, passed away peacefully Monday evening, January 8th, 2018. She was well-loved and will be greatly missed. Johnnie was office manager at McGuffie Heating and Cooling for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bert “Boots” McGuffie; parents, Felix and Vela Webb; step-mother Edna Webb; 5 brothers, Clarence, Lecil, Harold “Bill”, Ray, and Glenn Webb; sisters, Helen Webb McGuffie and Nellie Webb Crenshaw. She is survived by a son, Joe Allcorn (Carolyn) and her daughter, Shirley Black Bryant (Johnny); a sister, Dora Jones (Harold); and a host of nieces and nephews. A memorial service held on Saturday, January 13th, 2018 at 3 PM, Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with a visitation beginning at 2 PM.

Eva, AL – Mr. Ronnie Darrell Dempsey, age 59, of Eva, Alabama, passed away Saturday, December 31st, 2016, at his residence.

Visitation, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 4th, 2017, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Hamilton, Alabama.  Funeral service, 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, following visitation, at the funeral home chapel in Hamilton.  Burial in Antioch Cemetery.

Mr. Dempsey was born March 13th, 1957, to the late Paul Dempsey and Chery Dempsey.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Dempsey; children, Patrick Dempsey, Chery Dempsey, Carla Woods, and Michael Duke; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Tony Hoskins, and Terry Hoskins; and 1 sister, Tonya Duke.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Dempsey and Katherine Dempsey; 1 son, Robert Dempsey; and 1 brother, Roger Hoskins.

Mr. Knight was born July 5th, 1927 in Marion County, Alabama, to the late Wiley Cornelius and Flora Boyett Knight.
