Hackleburg, AL – Mr. Tony Lee Hardin, age 59, of Hackleburg, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, August 17th, 2016, at his residence.

Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 19th, 2016, at the Hackleburg First Baptist Church in Hackleburg, Alabama.  Interment in Pine Crest Cemetery, Calhoun County, Mississippi.

Mr. Hardin was born January 19th, 1957, in Calhoun City, Mississippi.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Sue Gregg Hardin (Ace) Canon; daughter, Alicia (Derrick) Ferguson; grandchildren, Enjoli and Dylan Ferguson; brother, John (Pat) Hardin; nephew, John Tyler Hardin; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Hardin.

Donald Byrd (1938 – 2016)

Saltillo, MS – On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, March 26, 2016, after a spectacular round of golf at the Pontotoc Golf Course, Donald Grey “Don” Byrd, 78, collapsed from an apparent heart attack and completed his earthly pilgrimage.

Don, an avid golfer and lover of the outdoors, was born on March 2, 1938, in Hamilton, Marion County, Alabama, to the late Woodrow Byrd and Trixie Fikes Byrd. A graduate of Hamilton High School, in Hamilton, Alabama, he lived most of his adult life in the Lee County, Mississippi area. Don was a master salesperson and worked for Malone and Hyde many years before retiring from the Martha White/Pillsbury Co. Don enjoyed his many friends, was a teller of tall tales, and a regular at the West Main Hardee’s morning coffee drinking group. A member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Don loved life, lived it fully, and will be sorely missed by family and especially his golfing buddies.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Marc Howard officiating. Private burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland, which is entrusted to assist the family.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Scott Byrd of Saltillo; his daughter, Susan Seeberger and her husband, Rob of Houston, Texas; a brother, Robert Byrd and his wife, Myra of Blairsville, Ga.; and his extended “in law” Scott family members; 1 paternal aunt, Willene Byrd Gann, of Hamilton, AL.; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Buckner, Ricky Coker, Keith Grass, Louie Caldwell, Jimmy Guy McDonald, Donnie Crane, Danny Richardson and Todd Ellis. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Gatlin and his Hardee’s buddies.

Memorials may be made to the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 937 Mt. Vernon Rd, Tupelo, Mississippi 38804.

Tremont, MS – Mr. Marlin Gerald Cayson, age 77, of Tremont, Mississippi, formerly of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Thursday, December 3rd, 2015, at his residence.

Gerald Cayson was born April 8th, 1938, in Marion County, Alabama, to the late Hertis Cayson and Willie Mae Williams Cayson.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Cayson of Tremont, Mississippi; children, Greg and Tammy Cayson of Hamilton, Alabama, Lora and Mike Alberts of Atlanta, Georgia, Tracy Roos of Hamilton, Alabama, Karin and John Holliday of Hamilton, Alabama, and Jamie and Michelle Williams of Tremont; grandchildren, Deanna and Jarod Beachum, Tennessee, Dustin Cayson of Tennessee, Chae and Mike Duran of Atlanta, Georgia, Christopher and Amber Roos of Clovis, New Mexico, Casey and Trey Nini of McCalla, Alabama, Hanna Roos of Hamilton, Alabama, Sara and Craig Vice of Hamilton, Alabama, Kara Holliday of Hamilton, Alabama, Taylor Roberts of Tremont and Zachary Williams of Tremont; brothers, Gene and Jan Cayson, Royce and Joyce Cayson, and Lowell Cayson, all of Hamilton, Alabama. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryan Allison, of Birmingham, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Mae Parker, and his father, Hertis Cayson; and grandson, Bryan Allison.

Hamilton, AL – Ms. Emily Amanda Ray, age 30, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Monday, November 2nd, 2015 as the result of an automobile accident.

Visitation, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 4th, 2015, at the Fulton Bridge Baptist Church in Hamilton, Alabama.  Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 5th, 2015, at the Fulton Bridge Baptist Church.  Burial in Carter Cemetery, Detroit, Lamar County, Alabama.

Ms. Ray, born June 1st, 1985, in Amory, Mississippi, to Danny and Patsy Shedd Ray.  She was co-owner/franchisee of GiGi’s Cupcakes in Tupelo, Mississippi.

She is survived by her fiancé, Colby Dodd; her parents, Danny and Patsy Ray; 1 aunt, Joan (Ray) Weaver; mother-in-law, Donna Dodd and father-in-law, Leon Dodd; and a host of friends and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Travis and Emily Shedd, grandfather, James Ray and grandmother, Mary Ray.

Nellie was born November 25th, 1929, in Lamar County, Alabama, to the late George Jefferson “Bud” and Nina Smith Hollis. In her early years, she attended Sulligent High School and then worked throughout adulthood inside her home as a homemaker. When she found extra time around taking care of her family, she enjoyed reading. She was an active Al-Anon member and a member of Sulphur Springs Primitive Baptist Church.

She is survived by 2 sons, Phillip (Faye) Pennington, Jr., Jackson, MS., and Jeffrey Lyle Pennington, Russellville, AL.; 2 daughters, Elaine (Edwin) C. Hance. Hamilton, MS., and Janis (Dom) Weinberger, Gastonia, N.C.; 9 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Pennington, Sr.; her parents, George Jefferson “Bud” and Nina Smith Hollis; 3 sisters, Bobbie Nell McDaniel, Robbie Gray Lewis, and Jo Ann Jordan; and 1 brother, Freddie Hollis.

Ms. Grisham was born January 27th, 1959, to Travis and Irene Beck Dulaney. She was a nursing assistant at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was a Baptist in belief. She enjoyed reading, shopping, watching T.V., music and doing crafts. She loved being around her family, especially her daughter.*

She is survived by 1 daughter, Nicole Grisham of Chattanooga, TN.; 2 sisters, Charlene Dill and Peggy (John) Dilbeck, both of Mantachie, MS.; 1 niece, Charlotte Dill; 2 nephews, Edward Dill and Rodney (Renee) Dill; 2 great-nephews, T.J. Dill and Preston Dill; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Travis and Irene Beck Dulaney.
