Age:  80

Born:  March 17, 1939, in Hamilton, Marion County, Alabama to the late Margaret Rosabell Godsey Crowe and Edward Frank Crowe.

Died:  Saturday, August 3, 2019, at her residence.

Visitation:  2:00 – 3:00 p.m., Thursday, August 8, 2019, at the Otts Funeral Home in Sulligent, Alabama.

Funeral Service:  3:00 p.m., Thursday, August 8, following visitation, at the funeral home chapel.

Burial:  Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Beaverton, Lamar County, Alabama.

Officiating:  Bro. Scott Stokes and Bro. Roy McHenry.

Survived By:

Son:  Richard Knolton (Robin) Hankins, Birmingham, AL.

Joyce was born on March 17, 1939, in Hamilton, Alabama to the late Margaret Rosabell Godsey Crowe and Edward Frank Crowe. She owned and operated an arcade and a beauty salon.  Joyce was a member of a flying square dancing group and enjoyed playing the dulcimer.*

Ms. Joy Fay Green George Maxwell, age 68, of the Mt. Hebron Community in Beaverton, Alabama, passed away Saturday, August 31st, 2013, at her residence.

Visitation, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday evening, September 2nd, 2013, at the Otts Funeral Home in Sulligent, Alabama. Funeral service, 2:00 p. m., Tuesday, September 3rd, 2013, at the Otts Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. James Godsey and Sis. Judy Elmore officiating. Burial in Hollis Cemetery. Pallbearers, Derrick Foster, Christopher George, Randy Weeks, Robert Guyton, John Brandon, and Nick Johnson.

Ms. Maxwell was born September 13th, 1944, in Lamar County, Alabama to the late Littleton and Ruthie Mae Young Green. She enjoyed gardening and flowers were her specialty. Joy Fay loved to cook, especially baking. She was a lady with a lot of patience and a very gentle touch. She worked for many years in the garment industry, but also worked in upholstery. She was of the Baptist Faith.*

She is survived by 1 son, Danny (Teresa) George, Sulligent, AL.; 1 daughter, Rosie (Al) Merchant, Sulligent, AL.; 4 grandchildren, Christopher George, Tisha George, Rick (Casey) Merchant, and Ashley (Derrick) Foster; 4 great-grandchildren, Lora Foster, Ethan Foster, Kayle Merchant, and Julie Merchant; and 3 sisters, Lorene (Ricky) Youngblood, Winfield, AL., Wanda Fay Weeks, Guin, AL., and Shirley (Danny) Sorrells, Vernon, AL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Littleton and Ruthie Mae Green; her husband, J.W. Maxwell; 1 daughter, Lora George Johnson; and 1 brother, David Green.

Mr. Sterling Hayes, age 82, of Beaverton, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Generations of Vernon.

Visitation 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening, August 22nd, 2013, at the Otts Funeral Home in Sulligent, Alabama. Funeral service, 4:00 p.m., Friday, August 23rd, 2013 at Otts Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Beaverton, Lamar County, Alabama. Bro. Roger Redus and Bro. Edward Puckett officiating.

Mr. Hayes was born August 21st, 1930, in Lamar County, Alabama to the late Clifton and Flossie Eldridge Hayes. He worked for several years at McCoy Mfg and for Glenn Franklin at Franklin MFA. Sterling was a member of Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by 4 sons: Bobby Joe (Judy) Hayes, Sulligent, AL., Frankie (Ann) Hayes, Sulligent, AL., Henry Dale Hayes, Greenwood Springs, MS., and Danny (Doris) Hayes, Beaverton, AL.; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Herman (Pauline) Hayes of Sulligent, AL.

He was preceded in death by parents, Clifton and Flossie Hayes; his wife, Annie Belk Hayes; 1son, Johnny Hayes; daughters: Martha Sue Guyton and Anita Kay Hayes; 6 brothers,Tom, Berble, Mac, Junior, Hardy, and Lewis Hayes; 3 sisters, Lois Hayes, Lestie Hayes, and Dean McGoo.
