Patsy Gann age 70 of Birmingham formerly of Winfield, AL passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 in the Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL.

Born March 6, 1942 in Rome, GA she is the daughter of the late Samuel and Bessie Touchstone Youngblood. She had lived in Birmingham since 1970 and was a member of the Hunter Street Baptist Church.

She is survived by A Daughter, Suzanne Gann of Birmingham, AL, A Son, Tim Gann of Birmingham, AL 2 Grandsons, Benjamin Taylor Gann and James Daniel Gann, and 2 Brothers, Max Youngblood of Bessemer, AL and Sam Youngblood of Guin, AL.

She was also preceded in death by a Son, Benjamin Gann, a Sister, Sarah Pauline Kalusen and a Brother, Guy Youngblood.

Services held Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 12:00 pm from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Guin City Cemetery. Dr. Kenny Hatcher officiating.

Ms. Shirley Jones Perkins, age 72, of Guin, Alabama, passed away Thursday, November 15th, 2012, in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, Alabama.

Graveside service, 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 17th, 2012 at the Guin City Cemetery. Dr. Kenny Hatcher officiating.

Ms Perkins was born in Guin, Alabama to the late Houston “Penny” and Jewell Sizemore Jones. She had lived in Guin and Winfield the past 25 years ad was of the Baptist Faith.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Kristal P. Chaffin of Guin, AL.; 1 son, Travon “T.J.” (Ann Marie) Perkins of Guin, AL.; 6 grandchildren; 1 sister, Barbara Williams of Savannah, S.C.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Perkins; 2 sons, Tony and Troy Perkins; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters; and her parents, Houston “Penny” and Jewell Sizemore Jones.

Mr. Robert “Bob” Weeks, age 79, of Sulligent, Alabama passed away Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Visitation, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 27th, 2012, at the First Baptist Church, Sulligent, Alabama.  Funeral service, 4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 27th, 2012, at the Sulligent First Baptist Church Sanctuary.  Bro. Byron Pickering officiating.  Burial in Sulligent City Cemetery, Sulligent, Alabama.

Mr. Weeks was born on September 20, 1933 to the late Robert L. Weeks Sr. and Annie Mae Stanford Weeks.  He graduated from Sulligent High School and from Florence State College, where he played football.  He was active in his church as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.  He was on many boards including the Northwest Alabama Mental Health Board, Lamar County Hospital Board, Lamar County Board of Directors – Alfa, and the Tombigbee Electric Board of Directors.  He was also inducted into the Lamar County Sports Hall of Fame.  Bob was an Army veteran and retired from Production Control at 3-M Company.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Weeks; 2 sons, Craig (Lisa) Weeks, and Alan (Rhonda) Weeks, both of Sulligent, AL.; 2 daughters, Nina (Jack) Dyer of Frostproof, FL., and Alice (Greg) Green of Calhoun, GA.; 11 grandchildren, Brian Weeks, Amber Weeks, Adam Weeks, Robbie Weeks, Chris Mikeal, Hannah Green, Douglas Dyer, Camille Weeks, David Dyer, Luke Green, and Isaac Green; and 5 great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Beth Weeks, Tyler Weeks, Aydin Weeks, Paytyn Weeks, and Analise Weeks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Weeks, Sr. and Annie Mae Stanford Weeks; 1 son, Robert Douglas Weeks; and 1 sister, Wynell Weeks Boyett.

In lieu of Flowers, donations to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 217 Sulligent, AL  35586; or to any Ministry of you’re choosing such as: Finishing in Faith, Building Fund, Benevolence Fund, and Early Learning Center, Youth or any other ministry of your choosing.

James Alan Jackson, age 59, of Guin, Marion County, Alabama, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012, at his residence.

Visitation, 6:00 – 8:00 p. m., Monday, June 25, 2012, at Norwood Funeral Home, Guin, Alabama. Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Kenny Hatcher and Bro. Payt Junkin officiating. Burial in Sullins Church cemetery.

Mr. Jackson was born in Wetumpka, Elmore County, Alabama to Auta V. “Jack” Jackson and the late Sarah Elizabeth Thornton Jackson. He had lived in Guin most of his life and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the US Airforce.

He is survived by 1 son, Dennis (April) Jackson; 3 grandchildren, Austin, Rilie and Madison; and his father , Auta V. “Jack” Jackson, all of Guin, Alabama.
