Winfield, AL – Ms. Edna Mae Turner Whitehead, age 81, of Winfield, Alabama, passed away Sunday evening, September 17th, 2017, at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Visitation, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 20th, 2017, at the Bowen Funeral Home in Winfield, Alabama.  Funeral service, 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, following visitation, at the funeral home.  Billy Goudeau, son-in-law of Ms. Whitehead, officiating.  Burial in West Alabama Memorial Gardens in Gu-Win, Alabama.  Ethan Green, Noah Green, Taylor Whitehead, Jayson Whitehead, James Bates, and Chad Green serving as pallbearers.

Ms. Whitehead is survived by her husband of 67 years, I.J. Whitehead; her children, Patricia Trull (Ken), of Charleston, S.C., Wanda Goudeau (Bill), Byron, of Georgia; 5 grandchildren, William Trull (Katie) of Charleston, S.C., Meredith Green (Chad) of Tuscaloosa, AL., Crystal Shirey (Oliver) of Birmingham, AL., Taylor Whitehead of Sumiton, AL., and Jayson Whitehead of Guin, AL.; 10 great-grandchildren, Kaley Trull, Elayna McElroy, Carmen Trull, Ethan Green, Abby Green, Noah Green, Isabella Green, Lilah Green, Noah Shirey, and Charlie Shirey; 2 sisters, Catherine Haynes of Gulf Shores, AL., and Judy Chance of Bay Minette, AL.

She was preceded in death by 2 daughters Lela Whitehead, Vanessa Whitehead; 1 son Dennis Whitehead; her parents, Herman and Edna Hall Turner; and 2 brothers, Eugene Turner and Willie Turner of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Jasper, AL – Mr. Ronald Max Noles, age 72, of Jasper, Alabama, formerly of the Winfield and Brilliant, Alabama areas, passed away Sunday, September 17th, 2017, at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham.

Mr. Noles is survived by his wife, Linda Stone Noles; 3 daughters, Rhonda Lee Noles, Angela A. Guin, AL – Harley “Mickey” Goggans, age 59 of Guin, Alabama, formerly of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Wednesday August 23, 2017 at the North Ms. Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.

Visitation will be Friday August 25, 2017 from 6:00 until 9:00 at the Restoration Community Church (150 Co. Hwy. 148 Guin, AL. / Corner of Hwy. 43 and Marion County Lake Rd.). Funeral Service will be Saturday at 11:00 am at the Church with burial to follow in the Goggans Cemetery.

Survivors include, Wife: Barbara Goggans, Children: Charles and Britton Goggans, Sister: Twyila Goggans, Niece: Tyila Goggans, Mother-In-Law; Yvonne Ausbon, Brother-In-Law: Jimmy (Angie) Coggin and a host of Other Relatives and many Friends.

He was preceded in death by, Parents: Charles and Frances Tollison Goggans, Grandparents: Dewey and Grace Goggans and Edgar and Lola Tollison, Father-In-Law: Cecil Ausbon.

Mickey and his wife, Barbara have run the Marion County Lake between Hamilton and Guin for many years. He will be greatly missed.

Hamilton, AL – Mr. Gene Harold Pope, age 78, of Hamilton, Alabama , passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 in Guntersville, Alabama.

A memorial service will be held, Sunday, June 18, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, in Hamilton, Alabama.

Gene Harold Pope was born June 8, 1940, in Marion County, Alabama. He is the father of Bill Pope, husband of Gloria, and grandfather to a host of grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Essie Pope and his grandparents, William “Will” Pope and Phoeba Bedie Cordelia Sullins Pope.

Gene Harold was first cousin to my late husband, Gary Wayne Mays, Sr. and I have enjoyed his being part of my family for more than 50 years. I will miss him very much.
