Hamilton, AL – Robert “Bob” Howard Palmer, age 68 of Hamilton, Alabama passed away Monday October 9, 2017 in the Hospice Unit in Tupelo, MS. after a brief illness.
Born January 29, 1949 to the late Robert Howard and Gay Miles Palmer, he had resided in Hamilton, AL. his entire life. He attended Hamilton High School where he excelled on the basketball court. He retired from Hamilton Housing Authority after working 25 years in the maintenance department. He was known for his game of pool and playing a heated game of darts. He was an avid fisherman and never got tired of showing all of his fishing pictures. He also enjoyed a good hunting trip with his buddies. He will always be remembered as a jokester and one would always need to be careful when shaking his hand. On the weekends he could be found watching Alabama Football or NASCAR racing. His is survived by his Wife of 30 years Linda Tarwater Palmer, Daughter; Anna Palmer Gilmore (Jonathan), of Dothan, AL., Stepson: Jeffrey Miller (Brandy) of Madison, AL., Grandchildren: Leighton(8), Landry (5), Kendal (13), Austin (13) and another granddaughter arriving in December. Brother: Billy Douglas Palmer (Jenny) of Guntersville, AL.
A private family celebration will be held at a later date.
