Born:  April 9, 1937, in North Chicago, Illinois to the late George Cudworth and Josephine Cudworth.

Died:  Friday, August 23, 2019, at Marion Regional Nursing Home in Hamilton, Alabama.

Visitation:  10:00 a.m. – 12:00 (Noon), Monday, August 26, 2019, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Winfield, Alabama.

Funeral Mass:  12:00 p.m. following visitation at the church.

Officiating:  Father Anthony Weis.

Burial:  Rocky Grove Cemetery on Sentry Rd., Hamilton, Alabama.

Survived By:

Son:  David (Schawana) Stidham

God called for one of his earthly servants to come home and peacefully took his breath back on June 20, 2019. Joe Walker moved up yonder at 12:30 p.m. at Diversicare of Winfield surrounded by his loving wife and daughter.

Joe was born on May 28, 1951, in Marion County, Alabama, to Karey Walker and Lucrecy West Walker. He was preceded by death, his parents, Karey Walker and Lucrecy West Walker, along with a brother, Leon Walker and a sister, Marvis Stella Standfield. He leaves behind many people to cherish his memories. His wife, Evelyn Fay Casey Walker who was the light of his life for 47 years and the epitome of what a devoted wife should be. He will expect his two children, Crystal Shea Walker Rutland ( Marcus) of Cherokee, AL and Joey Lance Walker (Melanie) of Severn, MD to carry on the “Walker” name and make sure our mother’s needs are met. Pawpaw, as he was affectionally called by his grandchildren, Marcus Horatio Rutland, Jr, Amaya Lauryn Walker, and Mia Simmone Lucrecy Walker, will always be told stories about their pawpaw. He leaves behind two brothers, Reverend Harrison Walker (Lois) of Hamilton, AL, George Walker (Deborah) of San Diego, CA, two brother-in-laws, Eddie Standfield, Sr of Gary, IN, Reverend Kenneth Casey (Lisa) of Columbus, MS; five sister-in-laws, Peggy Stone of Dallas, TX, Lee Zema Stegall of Detroit, MI, Mary Ollie Clifton of Huntsville, AL, Alice Dean Stewart of Hamilton, AL, Vickie Robinson of Hamilton and one aunt Clarise Walker of Cleveland, OH. “Karey Joe” which is what many of the 1st cousins called him leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mr. Walker’s celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Hamilton United Methodist Church in Hamilton, AL. The body will be placed in the sanctuary at 12:30 p.m. Visitation with the family will be from 12:30-2:00 p.m. The service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Walker’s final resting place will be at Rocky Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Hamilton, Marion County, AL.*
