Graveside Service: 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 1, 2020, at Shiloh Cemetery near Kansas, Alabama.

Burial: Shiloh Cemetery near Kansas, Alabama.

Officiating: Brother Phillip Harkness, Brother Darrell Pate and Brother Todd Clippard.

Bio: Larry was a member of the Carbon Hill Church of Christ. He was always a positive influence serving the Lord and his church as deacon and youth leader. He was a 1973 graduate of Carbon Hill High School and retired from Southern Company/Alabama Power after 42 years of service. Larry operated a cattle farm for many years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time with his family and being a grandfather.*

Born:  February 7, 1957, in Guin, Alabama, to the late Billy Wayne Smith and the late Mary Ruth Myers Smith.

Died:  Friday, September 6, 2019, at his residence.

Visitation:  2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at the Otts Funeral Home, in Sulligent, Alabama

Funeral Service (With Military Honors):  4:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 10, following visitation, at the funeral home chapel.

Burial:  Shiloh Cemetery.

Danny previously worked in the oil field, truck driver for Hibbetts, and retired from the Alabama Army National Guard, also serving in Iraq. He enjoyed fishing, camping, being outdoors, and especially loved making others laugh. Danny attended First Freewill Baptist Church in Sulligent, Alabama.*

Marcelle was born April 30th, 1034, in Marion County, Alabama, to the late J.C. and Margaret Sexton Byrd.  She was a 1952 graduate of Hamilton High School and attended Auburn University. She worked as a secretary for her husband at Gilmer Realty. She loved cats and dogs, sewing and growing flowers. Marcelle was a member of Sulligent First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Gilmer of Sulligent, AL.; 1 son, Charlie Gilmer of Vernon, AL.; and 1 daughter, Cassandra Moore of Guin, AL.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents,  J.C. and Margaret Sexton Byrd; and 1 brother, Herb Byrd.
