Bio:  Terry was a 1970 graduate of Winfield City High School and a retired Vestavia Fire Fighter. Terry was an ordained minister; he loved the mission field, ministers, and church. He was a generous man and loved helping others. He was saint-like in these things. On his mischievous kinda-saintly side, Terry loved to laugh, purporting himself an amateur comedian. Terry loved turning one-liners with a few wise cracks thrown in, antics, and practical jokes. All of this in good fun of course, most of the time that is! Terry loved fishing and hunting, Alabama football, President Donald Trump, and Terry loved his MAMA! If you knew him, you would know, that no matter what stage of life or what kind of struggles he seemed to be facing, whether it be physical, financial, the loss of a loved one, or otherwise, Terry Loved Life!*

Bio:  Pat was born on October 25, 1949, in Oregon, Illinois to Leo Hoffman, Sr. and Mary Good Hoffman. She was raised in Oregon where she lived most of her life before moving to Winfield, Alabama in 2010. She graduated from Oregon High School in 1967. She worked for over 20 years as a cook and hostess for Black Hawk Presbyterian. She was a member of Winfield City Family Church where she enjoyed spending time with her church family and helping with activities. She was a good mother and grandmother and will be missed by her family who affectionately refers to her as “the pretty one”.*

Died:  Wednesday, May 15, 2019, in the Foster G. McGaw Hospital in, Proviso Township, Cook County, Illinois.

Born:  January 17, 1931, the 12th child of 13 children born to the late Dyer Plunkett and Martha Dunn Plunkett, in Winston County, Alabama.

Visitation:  11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Saturday,  at the Bowen Funeral Home in Winfield, Alabama.

Memorial Service:  12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2019, at the Bowen Funeral Chapel in Winfield, Alabama.

Burial:  West Alabama Memorial Gardens in Gu-Win, Marion County, Alabama with Military Honors to be presented at the gravesite.

Bio:  Born January 17, 1931, the 12th child of 13 children born to the late Dyer Plunkett and Martha Dunn Plunkett, in Winston County, Alabama, Homer grew up in the Winston County area and attended school in Lynn, Alabama. On November 28, 1953, Homer married the love of his life, Miss Winnie Jo McDonald from Fayette County, AL, just before entering into the United States Army three months later. Mr. Plunkett was a factory worker in Illinois for many years, he was also an all-around handyman, he could do almost anything, from painting and electrical work to repairing a car. He was a member of Berwyn Church of Christ in Berwyn, IL. Mr. Plunkett loved his family, his friends. and a great cup of coffee.*

Ms. Whitehead is survived by her husband of 67 years, I.J. Hamilton, AL – Mrs. Earlene Pugh Warren, age 75 of Winfield, Alabama, passed away Sunday, January 1st, 2017 in the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Funeral Service, Friday, January 6th, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., from the McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral Home.  Scott Montgomery officiating.  Burial in West Alabama Memorial Gardens, Gu-Win, Marion County, Alabama.

Earlene was born on April 2, 1941 in Guin, Alabama.  She was the daughter of Elic F. Pugh and Alice White Pugh; attended Marion Co. High School; previously employed with Munsingwear in Guin and was currently employed with Fayette Christian Academy Day-Care; she was the widow of Don Warren; and she was a member of Fayette Free Will Baptist church.

Survivors include one son, Thomas Warren of Haleyville, AL.; one daughter, Barbara Warren of Hamilton, AL.; one granddaughter, Aleigha Warren; one sister, Lorene Haney of Pea Ridge; one brother, Earnest Pugh of Guin; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, Donald “Don” Warren and parents, Elic F. Pugh and Alice White Pugh, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Thomas, Hazel Gann, Eunice Burleson and an infant sister, Cassandra Pugh; and three brothers, Richard, Hollis and Artis Pugh.

Winfield, AL – Ms. Sarah Lois Nuby Harris, age 94, of Winfield, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, October 5th, 2016.

Visitation, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 7th, 2016, at the Bowen Funeral Home.  Funeral service, 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 7th, 2016, at the Bowen Funeral Home, in Winfield, Alabama. Burial in West Alabama Memorial Gardens in Gu-Win, Marion County, Alabama.

Ms. Harris was born on November 10, 1921. She was a long time resident of Winfield, she was a proud business owner and took pride in helping others in the community. Lois loved her family, her church family and her garden, she spent many hours tending to her beautiful flower gardens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Logan Nuby and Sarah Melinda Nuby, her faithful and loving husband, Rex Harris, three brothers, Lewis Nuby, Curtis Nuby, and Malory Nuby, and a sister, Velma Hardin.

She is survived by her three children, Sonja Bostick, Larry Harris, and Rheeda Clark (Jim), 8 grandchildren, Zanna Freeman (John O.), Chet Bostick (Shelly), Jeff Bostick (Mandy), Andrea Samuels (Terry), Juliette Harris, Sasha Harris, Sarah Beth Clark, Kristin Dickinson, and Daniel Clark and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
