Died: Saturday, July 4, 2020, at the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, Alabama.

Visitation: 11:00 am -12:00 p.m., Monday, July 6 service time on Monday at the Bowen Funeral Home in Winfield, Alabama.

Funeral Service: 12:00 p.m., Monday, July 6, 2020, at the funeral home chapel.

Burial: Brilliant Memorial Gardens.

Bio: Nella Mae Calvert Walker was born March 3, 1941 in Alabama to James Calvert and Christine McCafferty Calvert. Nella was a 1959 graduate of Orville High School in Orville, Alabama. After relocating to Winfield, Alabama, Nella was very involved with the city of Winfield and the surrounding Community, assuming very active roles in various clubs and organizations. She was an active member of the Winfield First Baptist Church where she served as president of the Winfield Chapter of BPW and was an officer with the state chapter BPW. She was very active with Winfield Main Street, Winfield Industrial Board, the Winfield Chamber of Commerce, Canasta Club, and Modern Literary Club. She was employed as an editor for the Northwest Alabamian and later the Journal Record for many years. Nella also owned and operated Nella’s Fashions in Winfield for over 25 years. She loved being around people and loved being with her grandchildren.*

Cameron loved the residents at Diversicare. He enjoyed cutting up with his co-workers and with the residents in the facility. Cameron loved his family and his friends. He was especially proud of his son Lee. Cam took great pride in spending time with him and “showing him off”.*

Eleanor Anne Gaither Pope, better known as Anne, of Winfield, Alabama.

Age:  85

Born:  December 25, 1933 in Gadsden, Alabama to the late Horton Gaither and Myrtle Tarrance Gaither Story. Anne was a 1952 graduate of Emma Sansom High School in Gadsden, Alabama and a straight “A” student all throughout. She was a member of the Winfield Church of Christ, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Order of the Eastern Star. In 1954 Anne married her husband of 65 years, Richard Pope, Jr, in 1971, they adopted their daughter Ericka Anne Pope Spann. Anne worked as a bookkeeper and cashier for Sears, Roebuck & Co. from 1953 until 1971. Mrs. Pope was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.*

Died:  Saturday, December 21, 2019 in the Sunset Manor Health Care facility in Guin, Alabama.

Visitation:  1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the Bowen Funeral Home in Winfield, Alabama.
